“Encounter Killings” is bad policing. A professional police force will apprehend the accused & bring them to justice before a court of law.

@prakdadlani My mother still owns and operates a sumeet mixie handed down from her mother. The damn thing is 35 years old and the motor works just fine! Not a single problem with the motor in all these years! No wonder she refuses to "upgrade" to newer models

Many of us grew up with a SUMEET Mixer Grinder in our kitchens, invented in the 1960's by Shri S. P. Mathur, known for their unmatched durability & quality. Yet, since that time innovation in this sector in India has stagnated. We're here to change that. Innovate in India.

Some good news in the morning for Hepatology patients. A new drug called efruxifermin was found to reverse scarring of the liver in patients with cirrhosis due to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (now called MASLD). This new drug is a fusion protein that mimics the effects of fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21), which regulates metabolism and protects cells from stress. Efruxifermin designed by Akero Pharma, has a half-life of about 3 days, allowing it to be administered once a week. Efruxifermin is undergoing Phase 3 clinical trials in the SYNCHRONY protocol, which includes studies targeting both pre-cirrhotic NAFLD and compensated cirrhosis due to NAFLD. The SYNCHRONY program builds on results from two 96-week Phase 2b clinical trials, where 39-41% of patients receiving the drug experienced at least a one-stage improvement in fibrosis/scarring without worsening of inflammation, compared to 15-20% in the placebo group.

Buy AC first. Then think about buying shares of AC companies. Don't deny yourself or your family the comfort of an airconditioner.
Vinod Kumar Purohit@VinodVinodbhaa

@dmuthuk I am planning to buy my first AC in lifetime and this type of news are appearing. Instead buying AC should I buy share of AC manufacturer?

Gut-Friendly Tip! To curb those midnight cravings, try a protein-rich snack or sip on a calming herbal tea before bed. High-fiber foods and proteins reduce hunger hormones, helping you feel satisfied longer and making late-night snacking less tempting. #drpal #guthealth

Gentle reminder that Ayurveda practitioners are not real doctors. If you feel sick or get ill, go to a real doctor. Which, again a reminder, is not an Ayurvedic practitioner.

How to identify a science and health illiterate on Indian social media 📍Believes in, and uses the term "Nature heals" 📍Promotes herbal or floral teas for metabolic diseases 📍Encourages various "detoxes" and "detox protocols" 📍Promotes classical Yoga as an exercise 📍Cites and quotes Naturopaths and Chiropractors 📍Easily offended when Ayurveda is termed a pseudoscience 📍Distracts a scientific argument towards religion, culture or tradition 📍Attacks the messenger instead of debating the message with facts 📍Plays the victim card and dogwhistles their mostly health-illiterate followers to attack 📍Almost always Nation first, science and evidence last 📍Loves barefoot walking 📍Drinks raw milk, demonizes corn flakes 📍Strongly believes there is "hot" food and "cold" food types that dictate human health 📍Considers honey a healthy sugar alternative 📍Considers jaggery a sugar free iron tablet 📍Strongly believes that Eric Berg is a doctor 📍Starts the day with lemon and warm water on empty stomach 📍Considers celebrity nutritionists who promote ghee as superfood, medical doctors 📍Considers medical doctors who promote ghee as superfood, celebrity nutritionists 📍Strongly believes that pressing some finger or massaging the nose improves liver and pancreas health 📍Is f*cking scared of statins and paracetamol on social media, but will be using both in real life 📍Responds with YouTube clips or Blog posts as evidence 📍Almost always finds rubbish evidence to their unscientific claims driven by confirmation biases on WebMD or Cleveland Clinic/Harvard hospital blogs 📍Strongly believes that ancestors lived for 100 years 📍When losing a scientific argument, always tries to steer the topic towards Covid vaccines 📍When asked for scientific evidence for the wild claims they make, almost always responds with another question rather than give a straight answer, such as: - Does modern medicine have a cure for cancer?

Grounding or Earthing (via bare-foot walking) is a pseudoscientific practice. It has no clinically relevant benefits. There are a lot of absolutely nonsense wasteful studies on this topic that has contaminated the published literature. “The act of grounding refers to a physical connection between the electrical frequencies of the human body with that of Earth’s, Just like the sun constantly provides us with energy and vitamins, the earth too is a source of subtle energy that contributes to optimum health.” None of that is true, there are no “electrical frequencies” involved, the Sun does none of the things that are claimed, nor does the ground. Read more here: Earthing/Grounding is yet another dubious medical claim exploiting weaknesses in the system. sciencebasedmedicine.org/earthing-updat… from @ScienceBasedMed Worse, there are risks of foot infections (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16914795/) and trivial trauma that can possibly result in life-threatening complications in at risk populations (eg: those with diabetes and peripheral nerve disease) Indian healthcare's biggest challenge lies not in teaching people critical-thinking skills, but in educating and training the common person how to avoid health-illiterate boomer uncles like Mr. Vembu.

Believe it or not. Check for yourself. This is Uthirakosamangai, also known as Mangalanatha Swamy temple in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu. This temple is 3000 years old. Yes, you read it right. 3000 years, even before current major religions of the world came into being. Call it cultural or religious tourism; the tourism potential of Tamil Nadu is hugely understated.

Chief minister M K Stalin will award Kalpana Chawla award for courage and daring enterprise to A Sabeena, nurse from Nilgiris District, who daringly saved lives by going in a zip-line across a damaged bridge during the Wayanad landslide disaster. The severe landslide in Wayanad district, Kerala, caused the collapse of the Mundakkai-Suralmalai connecting bridge. As a result, rescuing those trapped became difficult. In this situation, it was decided to use a zipline to tie a rope and cross to the other side for rescue operations. The person who voluntarily stepped forward to participate in this effort was nurse Sabeena.
