@mitchlafon I’m probably in the minority but I consider the Number of the Beast to be the classic lineup. Clive Burr was a huge influence to me. Then again what does classic lineup even mean?

@magicman32 @mitchlafon Sorry, wasn’t meant to be insulting. Only saying that in the context of getting into the RRHOF it was based on what the 4 original members established. Brand management was in reference to the continuation of the band but I did not intend to imply negativity abt the later eras

@mitchlafon I completely agree with the drum solo take. Light Up the Sky, Everybody wants some and Hot for teacher drums are better than any stand alone drum solo.

I think it shows a great respect.
Imagine if, during the Balance tour, Sammy & Van Halen pulled out a KISS cover. That would have been epic.
That said, one cover, ok… if the set becomes three, four, five covers… no.
And let’s lose the damn drum solos for more songs!!

It seems my opinion about artists doing covers live has touched off a debate of sorts? Apparently the part about artists with “deep extensive catalogs” was lost? All I am saying is an artist like Bruce has literally hundreds of songs. He does a percentage of covers all the time I’m told. IMO simply as a fan, if I go to see an artist because I love their music and they have an extensive catalog, I’d rather hear their songs. Simple as that. Again I get some have made covers their own, or it serves as a solo spotlight for someone. All good. But using the Bruce example I have a ton of friends that go see him and would much rather hear Jungleland or something he left out of his own catalog, vs a cover. I have seen Kiss, VH and more over the years add covers at the expense of big songs they left out. Just my opinion as a fan going to see an artist I love that has a large catalog. To each their own.

@jasonGRIN It might still work, some epoxy to prevent the corners from splintering and you’ve got a sub with some character. Not excusing the mishandling and damage, should be compensated for sure.

@mitchlafon MTV introduced me to Def Leppard via Photograph but the Walkman is how I listened to the whole album, on vacation in a different state even. So I’d say Walkman was more important in how music was consumed but MTV exposed more bands to fans. 🙏@MarthaQuinn
