Sophie Cunningham STOOD TALL!!! Sometimes you get so enamored with a player you ignore the bigger story. The story that affects you and your kids live the most. The story that means the most. I love CC. I love her play and her incredible passion for the game. I still do. Nothings changed. BUTTTTT I have to say I missed the bigger story. The WNBA is a league filled with those who want to exclude free thinkers and those who see the world through a lens of right and wrong. Sophie Cunningham is the hero we need. Yes she isn’t CC the player. No one is. CC is one of one and she is special in so many ways! What Sophie is, more than a basketball player, she is a real a hero. She doesn’t take a poll. She doesn’t weigh her statements carefully. She says what she BELIEVES IS RIGHT and wrong. I completely whiffed on her story. If I’m honest. She is the main character in the story representing girls and women who just want a fair shake for girls everywhere. Sophie. You’re the hero! Thank you! On behalf of Dads everywhere you stood on business and you made me and all Dads proud!! You stood amidst incredible pressure to shut up and just play a game. Instead you said what you believe and for that we owe you gratitude!! Fuck the Sheryl Reeves and all the haters. You are the one who we all owe a debt of thanks.
