@PFTCommenter The whistle blows, it’s fair game. As a goalkeeper, the goalkeeper should know better.
English

@Nurapost You watchin this? Tied with 15 to go
English

@FerretGee I’m American. Life long player and fan. I agree.
English

@Prominent_Bryan We get offside has its flaws too. They just need the refs to make a judgement call on if the player had an unfair advantage or not
English

Some soccer purists will say only American noobs want this to change but that's not true. I have watched soccer weekly all my life and I think this shouldn't be offside. It just isn't what the original intent of the law was
Bring on the Wenger offside!
Ben Volin@BenVolin
Just a terrific rule. Ronaldo clearly cherry-picking and getting an unfair advantage
English

@TranscendntCode Thirsty ass engagement farmer.
English

@andywellie @matthewdmarsden And your nation also invented the game calling it soccer, but now you’re going back on it. As a nation, y'all are too flaky. Be gone.
English

@matthewdmarsden The thing is, because we invented this sport when you country was still at the stage when it was drooling and shutting itself, the equipment we also invented at the time was a tad different. The pic may explain why they’re still called boots.

English

@med_904 Why even have an out of bounds. Just guard your man
English

Out of bounds in football is crazy. I get the idea, but I think it would be better if the rule was “If any portion of the player is *in bounds*, the play should be in bounds”

Offsides in soccer is crazy. I get the idea, but I think it would be better if the rule was “if any portion of the player is *onside*, the play should be onside.” This 👇 is ridonkulous.
English

@BenVolin The rule is fine. How they enforce it is not.
English

@smyyguy It’s been off for the last 5-10 years. They completely leave out the part where the offensive player is supposed to have an unfair advantage. His feet and core part of his body are clearly in line or behind the last defender.
English

@PatrickWCutler Weird. I understood the rules at u-7. What’s challenging your ability to understand a child’s game?
English

@WadePlem He did. There’s a chip in the ball. They literally talked about it on the broadcast.
English

@psurtain23 Of course, they’re different sports. If you change the rules to “no offisides” it turns into a boring game, on a giant pitch, where people bang the ball to a bunch of cherry pickers. You completely take out the middle of the field and tactics that make this game work. It’s dumb
English

@CalamityColeman Not the same buddy, the ball is already in motion
English

@psurtain23 Oh man…. You’re not “wishing,” you’re playing them offsides. It’s an element of the game you don’t get. It’s okay to not be an expert and just watch for fun.
English

@CalamityColeman And when they take off, take off with them. That’s lazy defense…wishing a guy was offsides!!
English

@FanDuel @RobStoneONFOX Then everytime a player goes for a header and accidentally lands on a players foot, instant red
English

Bruce Arena says Folarin Balogun could've BROKEN THE ANKLE of the Bosnia player and deservedly received a red card 🟥
"That's a DANGEROUS play."
