2025 Freshman Varsity Season Recap ⚾️ Really thankful for the opportunity to compete at the varsity level as a freshman this season. Coming in as the youngest guy on the team, I learned a lot every single day from my coaches and teammates and gained experience that pushed me to grow both on and off the field. On the mound: ⚾️ 44.1 innings pitched ⚾️ 51 strikeouts ⚾️ 3.158 ERA ⚾️ 7 varsity starts ⚾️ Complete game with 14 strikeouts ⚾️ Competed against some of the top teams in the state, including the back-to-back state champions At the plate this season: ⚾️ .301 batting average ⚾️ 22 hits ⚾️ 13 RBIs ⚾️ 16 runs scored ⚾️ 4 doubles & 2 triples ⚾️ .393 OBP / .804 OPS ⚾️ 7 walks & 4 HBP ⚾️ 4 stolen bases In the field: ⚾️ 44 total chances ⚾️ 37 putouts ⚾️ Turned a double play This season brought long road trips, overnight tournaments, district baseball, team dinners, tough losses, big wins, and memories I’ll carry with me for a long time. Really grateful for the three seniors on this team and the leadership, competitiveness, and example they set all season long. Also incredibly thankful to have been nominated for ISHAA Athlete of the Week this season. Definitely an honor I don’t take lightly. Thankful for my coaches, teammates, family, and everyone who supported me this year. Still a lot to improve on. Week 6 | Varsity Baseball 3 games this week. Continued to get reps on the mound, at the plate, and in the field, working to stay consistent and compete each game. At the plate I went 3–8 with 3 hits, an RBI, and a triple, focusing on quality at-bats, putting the ball in play, and finding ways to get on base. On the mound I threw 9 innings across two appearances with 17 strikeouts, allowing 1 earned run, continuing to compete and stay composed each inning. Also added 2 stolen bases and stayed active on the bases. Another week to compete, learn, and keep building. Grateful for the opportunity to keep competing and continue earning my spot. Looking ahead to 3 more games this week to wrap up the regular season, ready to compete and keep building with districts coming up. Week 5 | Varsity Baseball 3 games last week. I continued to get reps on the mound and at the plate, working to stay consistent and compete each game. At the plate I went 3–9 with 4 runs and 2 RBIs, focusing on quality at-bats, putting the ball in play, and finding ways to get on base. On the mound I threw 6.1 innings with 4 strikeouts and 2 earned runs, continuing to compete and stay composed each inning. I also continued to get reps in the field and stay consistent defensively. This week was another opportunity to compete, learn, and keep building. Grateful for the opportunity to keep competing and continue earning my spot. Looking ahead to one home game and two on the road this week, ready to compete and keep improving. Week 3 | Varsity Baseball ⚾️ 4 games. Stayed consistent on the mound & at the plate. Went 8–14 (3B, 2B, 4 R, 2 RBI). Pitched 5.2 IP, 9 Ks vs Sugar-Salem (back-to-back state champs), 4 scoreless innings. Grateful to keep competing as a freshman. Buhl tournament up next. Week 1 | Varsity Baseball Got the start on the mound for the season opener and pitched 2.1 innings with 1 strikeout. At the plate in Game 1 I went 2–3 with an RBI, including the first RBI of the season for Snake River, batting 3rd in the lineup. In Game 2 I moved to the leadoff spot and went 0–3, but put the ball in play every at-bat with their defense making the plays. Also got a few innings at 3rd base and shortstop, finishing with two clean defensive plays. Grateful for the opportunity to compete as a freshman.
