Something about sitting on the back deck listening to the thunder from distant storm in May that is so peaceful. Kinda nice to not have any severe weather to worry about this go around. Just peaceful rain that is very much welcomed.

I’m sorry but @RadarOmega is and always will be the best radar app. I’ve used it during so many chases to keep my self and my chase partner in a safe place. But also keeping my family and friends ahead of approaching severe weather. And there’s zero changing my mind on that.

Usually, it’d be a little busier this time of year. The slight slow period has allowed our technical staff to conduct more training on our short-range, small-domain tornado predicting model. A few months ago, it was spitting out garbage and noise, but now it’s actually outputting useful predictions and findings. We feed our live storm chaser and upper-air sounding data into this model in real time. It’ll be publicly available as soon as we can prove its training is sufficient for an open beta. The most recent win was the Enid tornado, which produced a 6 out of 10 score for likely tornado production 15 minutes prior to the warning being issued, which increased to 8/10 10 minutes prior to actual tornado. Weeks ago this would likely have not even registered above the noise floor. Our model differs from others as we’re piping our sounding and probe data directly in and focusing on target storms. This is one of the really cool things we’re doing that hasn’t really come to the public surface yet. This week, things look to be a touch more active and we’re looking for another opportunity to deploy our equipment. RISE-26 kicks off officially next week! For the love of God, chase for the passion, not the clout and desire for everyone to like you. You will not succeed or be happy if you continuously worry about the attention from others in the weather community. Nobody is better than anybody else on here. If all you are worried about is being the best chaser, just remember the stuff we chase destroys property and kills people. Quit being so damn ignorant. This is exactly why chasers are a joke in the public eye. Focus on you and what you enjoy doing. This is where you'll find happiness! Ted talk over.

I’m not one who typically gets involved in drama, but everyone deserves a place in the weather world, especially women. Yes, it may be a male dominated field but does that change a thing? Absolutely not. It’s really not that hard to be respectful.
