Our daily update is published. States reported 1.8 million tests, 183k cases, and 81k people currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Reported deaths were 1,971, the highest since May 7. Test, case, and hospitalization counts broke all-time records today.

I’m Building a floor code bag. I’m a ED provider responsible for airways on floor codes. I also tend to run the code and post ROSC care depending on the other provider’s present. Anyone have tips or items they like in their bag. #MedTwitter #emdocs

@choo_ek I’m pretty sure the American people expect HCWs to do what every essential or blue collar worker has always done - work while sick.
And medicine has one of the worst cultures of self-abuse and not calling out.

How deep do you think the bench of healthcare workers is? As we get sick, how well do you think we can fill the roster? Do you know that some hospitals have folks on double or triple back up?

@Rick_Pescatore Only situations I use them in is post ROSC waiting on a drip and peri-intubation in a hypotensive patient. No medication has been shown to not cause hypotension in sedation for intubation. 10-20 mcg of epi pushed during sedation works wonders.

@docroxc It’s a valid questioning. The reason, IMO, is that “USA” and “Freedom” are the new idols of the church that are believed to be line with the God of evangelical Christianity. John Piper pointed out some errors of the chur h brilliantly in a recent article.

This is the bit which has been troubling me so much for weeks - that, as a Christian myself incensed with the obvious moral depravity of the potus, so many Christian organizations endorsed this liar. It has really made me question my faith & churches/leaders I've worshipped with.

Docs immediately steal some tetracaine when they suffer a corneal abrasion because it is 1000x better for pain than alternatives and safe when used for a day, which is all you need. How many studies required to extend this courtesy to our patients?

I wish I could attribute this quote but a quick reminder: getting daily covid tests as a prevention strategy against COVID is equivalent to getting daily STD tests to prevent STDs.
If you don't change your risky behaviour or use protective equipment, it's just a log.

@ashleypmiller Well both, sorta. I mean definitely the second. They very selectively and inappropriately cited those studies. A review of evidence that concludes that school decisions should be made cautiously and using best available evidence shouldn't be summarized as a stat about PTSD. /1
