The Orioles announced today that they will allow fans to enter their ballpark 2.5 hours before first pitch. That will allow them to watch Baltimore take batting practice. The Nationals should do this too. Fans should be able to watch their favorite players take BP. Kids should be able to try to get balls hit by James Wood and Dylan Crews. It enhances engagement, access, and interest. It would also cut down on lines to get into the game right before it starts. It might even also make the team more money based on opening concessions earlier.
Listening to every player talk about @VPasquantino and his leadership has been a really important story line this #WBC. Antonacci called him the “real Team MVP” last night for how he has built culture immediately. Lorenzen said Vinnie called to recruit him, as have many others. He’s vocal. He’s visible. He’s passionate. I’ve seen it first hand. He wears that “C” with great pride. Royals fans are lucky to have him on their roster too.
