BREAKING: The Ganesha baseball team is expected to have several players missing for Saturday's game against Loyola for the CIF-SS Division 2 championship at LoanMart Field in Rancho Cucamonga, including star pitcher Logan Schmidt, an LSU commit who is expected to be a MLB first round draft pick, sources are telling me on the condition of anonymity. Nearly the entire starting lineup will be at an out-of-state BPA (Baseball Performance Academy) camp that was previously scheduled, I am told. Nearly all of Ganesha's baseball players are part of Ganesha's online line program, and also part of the BPA Academy. Ganesha athletic director Don Cayer would not comment, other than to say they're scheduled to play on Saturday. Ganesha coach Jared Sadler has not returned calls or text messages .... Ganesha is expected to field a team for Saturday's championship against Loyola, but nearly all of the top players will be missing, I'm told. Ganesha asked the CIF-SS if they could play on Friday, but was denied. This is fluid. More to come.

@SGVNSports Ganesha AD and School principal should fire the baseball coach effective immediately, if the head coach and his star travel ball team has no plans of participating in the biggest game of the entire season.

I spoke with Ganesha coach Jared Sandler, who confirmed that several players will be at an out-of-state camp insteady of Saturday's championship game. Sandler also could miss Saturday's game. He said some are hoping to change flight/travel arrangements, but the cost is making it difficult. He was upset with the CIF-SS for not moving their game to Friday.

@SGVNSports So, what you’re saying is Loyola will be playing Ganesha on Saturday, the actual high school baseball team? Sounds like they would have been playing, in reality, a travel ball club team of semi pros disguised as Ganesha without these defections of “online students”.
