Families come in all shapes and sizes. This is literally a home with a mother and father in it. Why all the hate? MYOB and be a peacemaker!!!
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints@Ch_JesusChrist

“I grew up in Arizona, served a mission in Mexico, and went to college thinking I had a pretty clear path for my life. Then I met my now wife Victoria, and everything changed in the best way. “She always knew she wanted to be a doctor. Pediatric neurology isn’t an easy road, but it’s who she is, compassionate, steady, brilliant, and drawn to help kids and families through the hardest things life hands them. When she got into med school in California, we packed up and moved. “Stepping into her dream together was an easy choice. I wanted to support her the way she has always supported me. And honestly, watching her work and sacrifice and love people like she does has strengthened my faith more than anything else. “My path hasn’t been as clear. I’ve tried different directions, learned a lot, prayed a lot. Some days I still feel like I’m figuring it out. But I do know that God doesn’t measure timelines. He measures love, humility, and the way we show up for each other. “Supporting her doesn’t shrink my purpose—it expands it. Our callings from God can look different, and that’s beautiful. I’m building my future too, but I’m grateful that right now, part of my purpose is cheering for the person I love most as she steps into hers. “There’s not one 'right way' to build a family or a future. For us, this is ours. And it’s sacred.” — Nate

@john_mortal @Thenameisal92 @jaxmarie82 What am I possibly poisoning? What lies have I shared? I'm genuinely not working at anything other than trying to follow Christ. I'm genuinely confused by your comments

@CaliMed348 @Thenameisal92 @jaxmarie82 Nah, I think you know you lie. This thread isn't the first place I've seen you. You are a liar. You like lying. You work pretty hard to create a cloud of confusion. You like seeing the church & families poisoned in this way.

@john_mortal @Thenameisal92 @jaxmarie82 Again, speaking from experience; my family structure is not the traditional working father/SAHM/kids. Seeing posts like this that highlight that it's possible and acceptable to be a faithful member of the Church even though my life looks different is a blessing and a comfort

@john_mortal @Thenameisal92 @jaxmarie82 Goodness. You've seen 4 comments from me, all reiterating the same thing. Not sure where 'you have lied a lot' is coming from. I would disagree. I am fully honest in my assessment of the original post, what I gleaned from it, and what I feel the original intent was.

@john_mortal @Thenameisal92 @jaxmarie82 My full quote was: "No specific message is being promoted here other than it's not a sin to be different." The post highlights a faithful couple who doesn't look like the traditional lds couple. Because again, being different can be ostracizing.

@CaliMed348 @Thenameisal92 @jaxmarie82 No. I don't want to argue it out with you right now, but you did both, you sewed lies, & you also sewed confusion. The confusion part helps obscure the lies, but they are definitely there, e.g. the claim "no specific message is being promoted here"

It's breathtaking. He simply does not grasp that 1. He was entirely incorrect about the COVID event and then, 2. Now that we ALL have the data, which should demand he change his entire approach on the topic, he fails again because he suffers from the "sunk cost" fallacy and it's impossible for him to abandon his failed logic. Stunning!

@TheExMoCringe @m3lonh3ad @RigdonNancy3 @calbyu Friend- I am trying my best. I will continue to do so. But I know that no matter what, I will fall short. All I can do is pray that on judgement day, Christ looks on my failings with grace instead of posting my L's to shame me on a celestial social media feed.

ExMos and ProgMos Posting Their L’s
Hey Richard, remember this woman? Your “support” of her debilitating mental illness led her down the path of ending it all, leaving behind a broken marriage and a motherless young boy. She won’t see her 30th birthday because of people like you. You are a vile, evil and soulless shell of a man with real blood on your hands.

@m3lonh3ad @TheExMoCringe @RigdonNancy3 @calbyu I sin every day. Over and over and over. It's vile. I'm assuming you do the same. So does he. But we also do good every day. A person's Twitter feed doesn't give us nearly enough information to judge the content of their soul or their standing with God

@Thenameisal92 @jaxmarie82 We know nothing of this family's background or the specifics that would let us know what aligns with the fam proc. The proc has guidelines, but does not say "the only way for a couple to be faithful is for the man to work and for the woman to stay at home and care for children"

@Thenameisal92 @jaxmarie82 Why should it matter if I have extenuating circumstances? To anyone on the outside it looks the same. You are implying 'everyone understands' if it's out of my control, but judgement if it's not. Unless I preach from the pulpit the reason for my life choices no one will know

@CaliMed348 @jaxmarie82 if you are not in the norm bc of extenuating circumstances, everyone understands. if you are choosing to prioritize work over kids, solely bc it's your dream, then you should try to align your life to be compatible with the gospel teachings

@CaliMed348 @Thenameisal92 @jaxmarie82 No, you are just continuing to sew more lies & confusion. You are mixing cases like widows/widowers with parents whose hearts prefer the pursuit of riches & honor to fulfilling their childrens longings for love. It's disgusting. You cannot serve God & mammon. It damns all who try

@TheExMoCringe @m3lonh3ad @RigdonNancy3 @calbyu No one is saying compromise with evil. Look at who our prophet and apostles meet with on a daily basis; many are world and civil leaders who share different values than they do, but they are able to join together to work towards good. Not everything is black and white

@RobbHays145800 @FreedomMomUSA Who said anything about coddling? The Church posted that a non-traditional family can be faithful members of the Church and people lost their minds. If your situation looks similar then how could you not care, knowing that's how people around you feel?

@CaliMed348 @FreedomMomUSA Not what I said. If you don't feel like you don't belong, get over it. No amount of coddling you will fix it. You have to stop caring about it.

@RobbHays145800 @FreedomMomUSA Right, so the 'visitors welcome' signs on our buildings don't apply to everyone. Only those who fit the traditional mold. Good to know.

@Thenameisal92 @jaxmarie82 Being in the Church but different from the traditional norm can be incredibly ostracizing. Seeing examples of a nontraditional couple can be huge for someone's faith and feeling of belonging. No specific message is being promoted here other than it's not a sin to be different

@jaxmarie82 the messaging contradicts the family proclamation, and it's ok for people to point that out. if you don't understand how it contradicts, ask grok to explain it to you without bias. a lot of people seem to lack critical thinking skills and reading comprehension

@YourMomsHockey I am so glad that you have such a supportive system around you, and have the desire to do something that is so noble and needed. I have many non-traditional students in my cohort, several in their 40s. It is completely doable, you've got this!

Thank you! I’m still not 100% decided. All of my courses are 15+ years old and nursing didn’t require physics or organic chemistry, so I’ll take them this fall, feel out the balance with the kids and family, and go from there. But I’m grateful for a husband that’s not as narrow minded as many. I hope the next 2 years are fantastic for you, as well. 🩵

As someone who put off medical school because I didn’t understand how I could combine it with motherhood, due in part to the pressure I received from members of our congregation, I can’t tell you how refreshing and needed this perspective is. While I certainly don’t regret the time I’ve invested in my children, I’m so grateful my own daughters will see strong examples like this in their own lives, and will feel confident in their abilities to balance their dreams and their families. And that my sons have the example of their father who continues to sacrifice in support of my dreams, even as I contemplate taking the leap back into medical school at 41. It’s this kind of partnership and support that heals our world. 🩵

I am disappointed by the number of members who are upset with this. It's like they're screaming, "If you have a non-traditional family structure, don't bother learning about our faith. You're not welcome here." Christ would have given this man a hug and called him faithful.
