@Steve_Laws_ Not that I think Rupert is following this line of thinking, but: I think talking about 'integration' as if immigrants actually have a chance, but putting the bar absurdly high for it, is both more palatable for the electorate and a good bat to hit these dossers with.

We don't want them to integrate.
We don't want them to contribute.
We want them to leave.
Both of these positions below are weak. It's the same as what we have now give or take, just sprinkled with some nationalist rhetoric.

Many Boris supporters went to Reform after the Tories destroyed themselves by ousting him (myself included) you’ll do yourselves no favours by portraying Boris as the enemy - regardless of how fearful you are of his return.

Former Spanish territories in the Americas were comfortable and very wealthy at the time of their independence, and fcked up for the next 200 years, whilst 90% of former UK colonies are immensely poorer than any Hispanic country, and 10% developed almost by their own.

So they just got out of the space ship, not knowing if the pressure would make them implode, bit knowing if the gravity would make them fly away, no ropes to attach them to the ship.
