Manfred wants a cap this time. I just have the sense this time might finally be when we get it. We’ll see.

They are never installing a cap. Possibly a floor, but even that dosnt have a great chance. I'm not missing the point. He was wondering if a pending lockout/possible cap structure change would influence Skenes to take a deal like Keller or Griffin. It won't, at least not at this time. The Pirates contending over the next 3 seasons and beyond might be the only chance they have to sway him into staying. I get that the deals like Griffin signed are their only chance for signing big time players for an extended period of time. I don't think the lockout will have much change on the cap structure sadly. The owners have been dug in already for years on this, and the players want paid.

I know it’s stupid to think it really matters, but if you’re Paul Skenes entering this uncertain league negotiation… does he look at Griffin locking in in a long-term contract and consider offering a hometown discount? Sorry, I know, it’s the exuberance talking.

If a cap and a floor is finally installed in that system then the entire structure of those deals is going to change. And likely pretty drastically. The huge contracts of the past are not gonna happen the same way.

Jose Urquidy has reportedly made the Pirates Opening Day roster. Why? He allowed eight runs in nine spring training outings, has only pitched 2.1 major league innings the last two years, and Hunter Barco is also in the bullpen. I don’t get that.

@GMBCSuperfan Would they actually have the balls to sign him and still give him some time in AAA to get his feet under him? I don’t want him to start out overmatched. Rather him get a little more experience with pitching higher than AA and start him at home. Not in NY. Just my 2c.

I seriously need some help here. My neighbor just put up this massive metal fence right along our property line and I’m honestly pretty upset about it. It completely changed the whole feel of my driveway and now it looks like I’m pulling into some kind of industrial corridor. I had no idea this was even happening until the thing was already built. It feels like my space just got boxed in overnight. What on earth can I do in a situation like this???

@nicolefshirman And without looking at the rest of the responses, I will bet you half of them at least (if not more), would say that the players would probably do a MUCH better job than the regular officials do.

Today I learned that if the officials don’t show up to an NHL game for whatever reason and nobody can agree on replacements, both teams just … pick a player. The player from the home team acts as referee while the visiting player gets to be a linesman. This is an actual NHL rule

@alt_w_v_g I’ve never paid sticker for a car in my life, and in fact, I would never even refer to what I did pay as “below sticker”. I pay no attention to the sticker. Any negotiation STARTS at the invoice. If the dealership doesn’t like that philosophy, I move onto a different one.

@ThePoniExpress Night and day difference but overall the teen years are the worst and it’s not close. 2 yr olds are exhausting but you can’t blame them for their actions. Teens should know better but still love to push your buttons and test their limits.

All my girl dads out there: What’s more work? A 2 year old or a teenager? I’m trying to get a gauge on things. Appreciate your feedback.
