Yeah! Like it all reads to me as “we want to tell a deep emotional story but we lack the skill to do it in a way that lets it breathe and be coherent” to me like The glaring example to me is Runas in Legion. His story was sad, sure, but imagine how much better it could’ve been if he had been with the player through the entire Nightfallen campaign? If he had a chance to breathe in the narrative, even with the same sort of end? Things just resolve too quickly imo. Like the recent elf unification resolves in like 12 quest I think? And a lot of it sorta behind the scenes? Just seems too abbreviated for the story it feels like they want to tell / have players fully immerse in. I guess it works for their audience but man. Maybe I expect too much 🤪
