It is not about finding and punishing the perpetrators or replacing the ambulances – though this needs to happen – it is about a fundamental shift in this country. Stop the hate marches, tackle the hate preachers, ban the IRGC and Muslim Brotherhood, confront the madness surrounding us at schools, universities, and even in the NHS, and stop the radicalisation of our young people. Elaf Mosque in Cheadle Heath, Greater Manchester, was ransacked over the weekend, shortly after Eid al-Fitr celebrations. Members of the mosque returned for fajr prayers on Saturday to find the results of a devastating overnight break in, believed to have caused damage worth more than £30,000. The mosque has been targeted many times in the 12 months since it has opened. A fundraiser by the mosque described the shock: “Just hours before, the mosque had been full of people. Families. This is an act of terrorism on our Jewish community. This isn’t just about damage, it’s about sending fear through a whole group of people. And it will only get worse if we keep pretending antisemitism isn’t a real and growing danger taking hold in our city. We cannot keep reacting after an attack, leadership means stopping this before it happens.
