@fergalreid @___Sc0pes___ If the other social/cost rental developments are anything to go by, Irish people will feel like a minority in that area.

@brianmlucey "We're not taxed as high as all these other countries that also tax their citizens way too much" What a consolation. Also, look at the taxes on everything else, especially investments, it is a very punitive country for anyone with any bit of financial sense.

We constantly hear Oh Ireland is massively overtaxed, we are being fleeced etc Of course this argument collapses at the first brush with the actual data

@KeithMillsD7 I'm all for high-rise and even skyscrapers being built in certain areas of Dublin, but why are the architect firms designing these doing such standard, boring, bland designs

@IComestible What kind of right wing party has one of the most redistributive/progressive income taxation model in the world? Or 33% capital gains? Or worse, deemed disposal, taxation on unrealised gains every 8 years? Allows individuals to remain on welfare for life & get brand new homes

@davidmcw @IrishTimes @IrishTimesOpEd Look at the 'solutions' they've implemented on housing for example, HAP and HTB. Both seemingly done as a way of helping renters and buyers, but ultimately contribute towards restricting the supply and/or adding upwards pressure to the rental and property markets.

@davidmcw @IrishTimes @IrishTimesOpEd Anyone with any financial sense has seen the increased frivolous spending and been questioning for years where the money is going and what little value and ROI we get for it. A government constantly expanding is not a good thing, recessions hit much harder as a result.

The blocking of the distribution of fuel is a sinister and despicable attack on our economy and our society. This is not a lawless country. The laws of the land must and will be applied without fear.

@Davobro007 @MarkGermaine Such cope, either one extreme or the other, Ireland has a few dry days with a bit of 12-15° sun and people instantly forget the 8+ months of grey skies and rain and early evenings.

@finnan22 @labhaoise99 You're willingly allowing yourself to pay >€400 per year when there are numerous free alternatives. If you still want an Irish physical bank for lodging cash, use EBS. Other than that, Revolut, N26 and now Monzo are all fully free.

@US_Equities @MarkGermaine Every 8 years, it's abhorrent. Ireland's sadly fairly socialist for individuals regarding wealth building. You can get good salaries here, but want to put your disposable income to use and improve your family's? Gouged by the taxman.

@ciarannugent @FoyPt How accurate do you think these stats reflect reality? Have you ever had anyone close to you require assistance from the Gards and they had to wait multiple hours for them to arrive? The reality is many people are very apathetic about even contacting the Gards

Ciarán... If crime is down then they're covering shit up. My wife was on a bus last St.Patrick's day where the gardaí had to apprehend some lad swinging a knife around. I had one encounter post COVID with a local scrote approaching me as I walked through temple bar to offer me coke. It escalated fairly quickly after I told him where to go. I had another encounter where some lad took it upon himself to approach my wife. Thankfully I was there and he scarpered off as soon as I confronted him. The city is less safe. It feels less safe. Walking around / getting the bus is less safe. Swarms of homeless, drug addicts, drunks, Roma's(yes they're a problem) and opportunistic little fucks looking to swipe a phone / wallet / bike. We've seen multiple tourists attacked with 2 ending up dead. Your lefty liberal shite where zero repercussions exist for bad behaviour is destroying our City.

@GerOnSport @IrelandMeda I don't consider able bodied people who choose to remain unemployed and contribute nothing to society and remain dependent on the state (us taxpayers) equal to anyone else, they're actively a hindrance and burden on the rest of us.

@AislingAon We really need a viable more economically right wing party. We have sleepwalked into some terrible policies that punish anyone choosing to work in favour of facilitating a handy life for individuals who choose to remain unemployed, to a sickening level.
