@davidmcw @ChrisJMN1 I worked in the industry. It kept the shipyards going for decades, put bread on a lot of Scottish and NE England tables. Everything was British engineered. Norway did it better. Created Statoil to max the value chain, all platforms home-built concrete, not steel.

@ChrisJMN1 I wouldn't say that James, loads of my English mates also ask what happened to the oil wealth?? I think its a fair question. Particularly when they look at Norway.

@neil_goodgame All true, but the UK could have a 2 trillion $ pension fund, which surely must be worth lamenting. The Hydro is a big help, but so too is nuclear which the UK has

@davidmcw I just listened I agree with a lot of the conclusions though it isn’t a fair comparison seeing the disparities in population sizes. Also Norway benefits from plentiful hydro for electricity production.

@davidmcw there seem to be fake repostings of your Late Late appearance with AIB CEO today. french and .NL so far, but I didn't spot the mismatch in the website details. Didn't proceed when the agent couldn't answer my questions properly.
