Why you are the luckiest man if you married a w+cked wife— Rev. Uma Ukpai
Popular preacher Rev. Uma Ukpai has stirred reactions online after sharing an unusual perspective on marriage, saying men who marry “w+cked wives” may actually be fortunate.
Speaking during an interview, the cleric said difficult spouses often push their partners closer to God through constant prayers and endurance.
“If you marry a w+cked wife, you’re a lucky man because you will kneel down more than others, you pray more than others, and the blessings of God will come upon you more than others,” he said.
According to him, challenges in marriage can help shape a person’s destiny and character.
“So a bad wife prepares you for your greatness,” he added.
Rev. Ukpai also argued that no woman is completely free of annoying habits, warning men against chasing perfection in marriage.
“Anybody who wants a woman that has no annoying habits, go to the mortuary and marry a c@rpse,” he joked.
“She will not give you trouble until after seven days when the body will start smelling.”
The preacher went further to share a personal story about his marriage, revealing that his father-in-law once predicted the union would crash within a week because both he and his wife were stubborn.
“My father-in-law told me my marriage will not last more than one week,” he recalled.
However, Ukpai said he defended his wife’s strong personality, insisting that a woman who refuses to tolerate nons£nse from men is a blessing.
“And a woman that refuses necessary conformities, none of your friends can take her to bed,” he said.
“She will not tolerate it, she will sl@p the person. And once you have that assurance, you can go home and sleep.”
@ifetemini It is the girl’s fault. Why did she spend the first transport fare given to her if she knew she wasn’t ready to go? Why eat someone’s hard earned money? She shouldn’t have done that. Now she’s reaping the consequences. Suits her well. In fact, I support the guy.

🚨 Calling All Nigerians in the UK – Urgent Support Needed 🇳🇬🇬🇧
We have just received heartbreaking news about a Nigerian family in Plymouth whose home was completely destroyed by fire.
A 10-year-old child is currently in the hospital
The other two children are temporarily staying with friends
The family has lost everything including passports, important documents, clothing, and personal belongings.
This is a critical moment for us as a community. The family is not entitled to public funds, so they are relying entirely on support from people like us.
We are calling on: 🙏🏾 The Nigerian community in the UK to come together and support with donations
👕 Anyone who can provide children’s clothes, shoes, and essentials
💷 Financial contributions from the @NIUKCommunity purse and individuals
They have also set up a GoFundMe and please let’s support and give whatever we can.
We also urge the Nigerian Embassy @Nigerialondon to urgently reach out and provide necessary welfare support to this family during this difficult time.
Now more than ever, we must stand together and show what it truly means to be a community.
If you can help in any way, please reach out immediately.
Let’s come through for our own. ❤️🇳🇬
@aime_mwizaa Not children, not money, not food, not steeze (don’t care about that), not ego. If she can manage her emotions and stay mentally healthy so as not to disrupt my pursuit of my purpose in life, that is more than enough gift for me.
@Iyoaiye_ That woman is getting more attention & love from outside than from inside. That’s why she prioritizes what’s outside over what’s inside.
But on the issue of laundry, my guy, stop being lazy. This is 2026! Wash your clothes yourself. It is the least thing you can do for yourself.
@Iyoaiye_ Once your wife tells you “If you’re not okay with my job, you can quit the marriage,” my guy you have already lost the war if you choose to stay in that marriage. She has become your head in all things. You better quit that marriage now for your own good!
I understand where you're coming from bro.
A bad marriage can leave wounds that take years to heal.
But one painful experience is not enough reason to discourage every young man from marriage, just as one good marriage is not enough reason to guarantee success for everyone.
People are different. Experiences are different too.
Something to think about.
@gabsonojo1@instablog9ja In Kofi Awoonor’s poetic voice: "Something [called marriage] has happened to me...” In fact, “I am on the world’s extreme corner. / I am not sitting at the middle with [you] the eminent. / But those who are lucky / Sit in the middle and forget."
Marriage ain’t worth it, for me.
@gabsonojo1@instablog9ja For those who are fortunate to have a wife that fulfils those needs for them, great, let them rejoice and enjoy every bit of it while their joy lasts. But for me whoI wasn't that fortunate in marriage, I will never advice any peace-abiding young man to go into marriage.
