@FugitiveDuck45 @nikicaga That's because there's a desire for it. If there was no desire then any party proposing one wouldn't get voted in. All you're saying is that it's entirely unilateral in England's favour which is not democracy
English

@Callum_TH @nikicaga EU law allowed people to hold leave referendums. The UK let Scotland have a referendum because the political winds were in favour of it. I mean, the only other option is that Scotland gets to hold referendums at regular time intervals every few months or years.
English

What is the left-wing argument for why Argentina should get the Falklands
trotskyist contingent at orange walk@notbenfish
in a rare break from calling americans stooges of their empire and fundamentally fascist the english “left” will now spend a few days in a mutual masturbation session about the justice of mrs thatcher’s settler colonial war
English

@FugitiveDuck45 @nikicaga The compromise is obviously unidirectional when one country outnumbers the other by nine to one. And again, the 2014 vote was not done by those means.
English

@Callum_TH @nikicaga Yes. In a democracy people have to compromise. Why would the UK let a referendum to seperate a significant part of itself leave without any input?
English

@FugitiveDuck45 @nikicaga Obviously not possible for anywhere with Scotland's share of the population to that unilaterally. Nor was it the case for the 2014 referendum
English

@Callum_TH @nikicaga Passing an act through parliament that allowed the referendum to take place. Having the referendum.
English

@CrasimirVtori @FugitiveDuck45 @nikicaga If there's no appetite for another referendum then a party calling for one wouldn't get voted in.
English

@Callum_TH @FugitiveDuck45 @nikicaga So holding infinite referendums until Scotland votes yes is your unbiased and reasonable solution that totally isn't solely intended to secure your own political goals
In any case, if I were English, I would secede from Britain first. Who wants to live with Scots?
English

@Callum_TH @nikicaga The referendum was organised democratically, and then went through fairly. If Scotland wants another referendum it has to go through the democratic process again.
English

@FugitiveDuck45 @nikicaga Do you think Britain should've been a Whig dictatorship since 1708 since Lord Somers' win permanently settled the matter
English

@Callum_TH @nikicaga Scotland had an independence vote, which they voted against. The Falklands had a vote to stay with Britain, which they voted overwhelmingly in favour of.
English

@brodders_be Yamal in play after Doué came on was the worst. A 90 percenter and he even fitted in a 40 percenter later on.
English

Not to mention Olise’s tackle on Rodri
Ian@brodders_be
I’ve definitely been “Bartoned” tonight. Not sure how you can show those first half yellows and then not book at least 2 in the Second Half
English

@hayden_3112 @shriverist We were, but just from 1914 to the present, plus whatever other nonsense is in the pipeline until that happy day
English

@Callum_TH @shriverist you lot seem to have the belief you were wrecked by the english
English

@nikicaga A friend of mine was doing philosophy and film at Glasgow so we used to make fun of him for studying something so useless, and his main thing was the epistemology of cults and about the concept of contrary evidence reinforcing core beliefs. It apparently became really relevant
English

The Tartaria people are hilarious because their insane conspiracy is very self-perpetuating
All evidence against it is simply fake and proof of further cover-up
Alexander Thatcher@ThatchEffendi
Love how much of the Tartaria conspiracy theory is people not understanding the concept of revival architecture.
English

@Need4Sneed14 @shriverist Yes, but that's not the union. So did Austria and Hungary and Poland and Lithuania and the Habsburgs and those of the Kalmar Union, but they're not still shackled to it today are they
English

@Callum_TH @shriverist The Scottish crown inherited the English one, they didn’t conquer it.
English

@JamesCL_T @shriverist You can think that if you like, but he did say that
English

@Callum_TH @shriverist He didn't say that. I think the act of union was pretty great and we should be friends 😇
English

@RubeTotal @nikicaga Blocking the replies to this post by telling any would-be repliers that Ezra Pound was fucking shite
English

@RealTomH Senegal was ridiculous but the good players not turning up hurt the other two. Diomande was glued to the touchline for no reason all tournament and Luis Diaz was terrible.
English

@RealTomH Senegal, Ivory Coast and Colombia unfortunately will haunt me in my dreams for a long time
English

@Callum_TH Yeh exactly. When I realised tonight it was very much still on at 33.0 I regretted backing Argentina to qualify too. Unecessary.
English

@RealTomH It doesn't win you any more money but I'm pleased with the goals overs because we had it despite not thinking any of the smaller teams would lose by much, which I think we were completely out on our own with. A nice emotional hedge for you tomorrow anyway with the forecast
English

@Callum_TH Some cracking ones in there, group F (cashed out at the last), 295 goals, straight forecast 1/2 still on.
English

@charlie_moss07 @juasanalghaib You can lose 1-0 and have been well beaten.
English

@Callum_TH @juasanalghaib He obviously meant as in the final score
English

@Callum_TH Why are you so mad when your best player in a Mancunian
English
