Yesterday was @RSE_day where we discussed consent and what situations require us to gain consent. The class then came up with their own scenarios.

Class 5 had a very sticky British Science Week session in school today. They made slime and explored the properties of slime.

In DT, Class 5 made pizzas.

For anti-bullying week Class 5 took part in a live lesson on respect and kindness.

Yesterday we took part in Mini-Leaders training.

In Class 5, we have enjoyed wearing yellow and doodling what makes us happy for #WorldMentalHealthDay2024

We’re making homemade pesto for our cultural diversity day! We’ve been learning about Italy and we cannot wait to try our pesto tomorrow 😋🇮🇹

Finally they’ve started to grow! The potatoes with shoots and eyes have started to sprout 🥔🌱

We’re doing a science experiment about asexual reproduction. Which potatoes will grow better, the ones with shoots or the ones without? 🥔🌱

Yesterday we had a fantastic session with Shape. We had to work as a team to crack the codes and communicate well in order to complete other challenges. Well done Class 5!

We had a great time during #BSW24 on Monday we worked with an adult to create a landing vehicle for their eggnaut and took part in the BBC live lesson. On Wednesday we played metamorphosis mayhem using our knowledge of the frog life cycle and considered connections in the brain.

⭐️AWE AND WONDER ⭐️Class Two really enjoyed their awe and wonder science session with their parents for science week. We made huge bubbles, bubble painted, conducted our own colour mixing investigations and much more! We observed and followed methods too. Thank you to everyone ☺️

This morning we have taken part in the BBC Live Lesson for #WorldBookDay2024 . The class have been thinking about different genres of books that they enjoy reading as well as going into @CalowNursery to read their books to them.

Yesterday we went down to the local stream to conduct some geography fieldwork. We found out that the stream has eroded the bank to form an undercut and that the water flows quickest on this side which is on the outside of the meander. We also drew some lovely landscape pictures.

Today we made step counters using the accelerometer on the micro it. Pupils used an algorithm using variables to count the steps.

Yesterday we were experimenting with ways of separating materials. Class 5 used sieves, filter paper and magnets to get the four materials back.

Today we made pizzas. The children weighed out their own ingredients, kneaded the dough and very sensibly chopped their toppings using different knife techniques. I think you will agree they look absolutely delicious!
