In 1986, 20-year-old Christopher Knight quit his job and drove into the Maine woods until his car ran out of gas.
Once his car ran dead, he got out, then stayed in the woods for 27 YEARS.
Christopher lived completely alone in a hidden camp. The only words he spoke to another human were a simple “Hi” to a passing hiker.
To survive, he stole food & gas from nearby vacation homes more than 1,000 times, yet was never caught once.
In brutal winters, he’d erase his footprints and wander at night using military-level survival tricks just to stay alive.
In 2013, after 27 years in the woods, Christopher, now 47, was tracked down by police after a surveillance camera caught the “Ghost of the Woods”
He was arrested, but released after serving just 7 months for his crimes.

@TrekMovie I have no idea why they thought this ending was a good idea. The second to last episode seemed like a good place to end. They should have ended on that episode.

OTD, the Enterprise series finale, "These Are the Voyages...". EP Rick Berman said that if the show had continued, they would've found a way to bring back Trip Tucker. The finale was an attempt to wrap up an era as well as a series; what did you think?

Oh, Amy Klobuchar. The human embodiment of “Minnesota Nice” which is just passive-aggressive with extra hot-dish and a side of staff trauma.
She’s the senator who wrote a book about how great she is at getting things done during a pandemic… while her own staff was reportedly melting down, eating their feelings, and dodging staplers. Nothing says “leadership” like making your team cry harder than a Vikings fan in January. “But I brought them salad!” Yeah, Amy, because nothing heals workplace abuse like wilted romaine and performative Midwestern guilt.
She ran for president in 2020 like it was a church potluck she didn’t want to host but felt obligated to show up for. Campaign slogan energy: “I’m boring enough to be electable!” Her big moment? That viral debate clip where she tried to dunk on Pete Buttigieg and just… gently placed the ball on the ground like it was made of lutefisk.
The woman campaigns like she’s apologizing for existing.
Klobuchar’s the queen of optics: tough-on-crime moderate who somehow always lands right in the middle of whatever the Democratic Party needs that week. One minute she’s the reasonable voice of the heartland, the next she’s voting with the Squad while clutching her pearls. It’s like watching your aunt at Thanksgiving; she smiles sweetly, then slips a $20 in your pocket and whispers, “Don’t tell your uncle I voted for that.”
And that voice. That nasal, “I’m just a regular gal from the frozen tundra” cadence that makes every speech sound like she’s reading the church bulletin. “Fellow Americans… could you pass the Jell-O salad?”
Look, Amy’s survived longer in the Senate than most of her staffers’ mental health. That’s not nothing. But if competence porn had a cautionary tale, it’d be a 400-page memoir about how she once fixed a snowplow with sheer force of personality while her aides hid in the bathroom.
Keep doing you, Amy. America needs more senators who treat governing like a book tour with better health insurance. Just maybe ease up on the salad. Your team’s already suffered enough.

I can't read this criminal's name without thinking about a song. Doo wha diddy wah didi wahdi. I can't think of the rest of the song or who the band was, but they sang that part at the end of it.
Man, this is going to bug me for days.

@mnhousegop And yet Democrats keep getting elected because women are fearful that they won't be able to get their abortions.

HAPPENING NOW: Democrats are fighting for a new Climate Supertax bill that would hit Minnesota families with higher gas prices, higher electric bills, higher grocery costs, and higher local levies.
Families already stretched thin after nearly $10 billion in Democrat tax hikes cannot afford another major cost increase.

@WildlyLiberal @JohnMcCloy Where's your post about Joe Biden and Ashley? You didn't seem to have an issue with a president who took showers with his teenage daughter.
English

@JohnMcCloy Yeah but is he on board with the whole "sex with children" thing?
That's really what's important to Republicans......
That the president be allowed to RAPE CHILDREN

🔥🤔DO YOU SEE IT YET??
Michelle Obama is in Beverly Hills having dinner with their kids.
President Obama is in Austin, Texas pushing his hand picked Talarico for Senator while playing Masters of the Universe not retired.
James Talarico is 36. He’s never been married. Zero public girlfriends or partners. He says he is straight but his only dating mention is one single line his own campaign team inserted in Texas Monthly.
Talarico’s team noted that he had an active social life and dated the HOMECOMING QUEEN. He was the theater kid superstar in high school.
EVERY single MSM piece like the NYT stresses he is always single and keeps his personal life extremely private.
No student who actually went to McNeil High School with James Talarico in 2007 has EVER spoken publicly about him in any meaningful detailed way. Only teachers. And he’s running for Senate.
Texas has only elected a gay Congress member in history once. It was 2024. They have NEVER elected an openly gay Senator.
Talarico also went out of his way on a podcast to say “HE LOVES THE TRANS CHILDREN BEING ACTIVE & SHOWING UP FOR THEIR HUMANITY”
Do we all see it yet? Or do we need to remind everyone of Kal Penn?

@JohnMcCloy If he isn't careful he could end up in the Obama's backyard pool.

@Richard24418873 @EndWokeness Agreed.
I think Fallon tried to be civil to everyone. He was roasted for making Trump look human when Trump let Jimmy touch his hair. Jimmy did the best he could, but he also wanted to keep his job.

@CalypshoClips @EndWokeness Fallon is most tolerable of bunch.
Conan was last good one
Carson will always be king
English

@amyklobuchar I support it. Jackie Kennedy was going to put one in. Nobody would have thrown fits over it then. Obama said it was needed. Trump is taking care of it and now you are all whining like little bitches. You could also find something more worthy of your time to complain about.

@peggyflanagan @IlhanMN Why in the world would you endorse Ilhan Omar?
English

.@IlhanMN is a champion for Minnesota's working families.
She's never backed down from a fight or a bully, and she's led with moral clarity and conviction since our days serving in the MN House.
I'm proud to have earned her endorsement, and I'm ready to work with her in DC.
