1/ General-purpose robotics is the rare technological frontier where the US / China started at roughly the same time and there's no clear winner yet. To better understand the landscape, @zoeytang_1007, @intelchentwo, @vishnuman0 and I spent the last ~8 weeks creating a deep dive on humanoid robotics hardware and flew to China to see the supply chain firsthand. Here's everything we've created + our takeaways about the components, humanoid comparisons, supply chains, and geopolitics👇

@OHatTartine the GPT era was defined by ilya asking “what’s the biggest corpus of data to pretrain on?” and then doing that using the internet in the RL era the question is “what’s the biggest game in the world to do RL on?” and it seems intuitive the answer is the stock market

Anyone else notice OAI’s been stuck at 800M for the last 2 months?
Brad Gerstner@altcap

@hblodget Yes, we own Google, Broadcom, Nvidia, OpenAI, Anthropic, etc. Not smart enough to pick just one winner. But I don’t think Benioff tweet much signal. ChatGPT has re-accelerated - almost 900 M weekly users. Benchmarks have converged - product velocity key. 🧐

Founding Beacon with @nilamg has been the most intense but also fulfilling time of my life. In just a year, we’ve grown to a team of 30+ and acquired dozens of mission-critical software businesses that quietly power everyday life, helping them bring AI to real-world industries. We are deeply thankful to the entrepreneurs who have entrusted us with their life’s work and our partners at General Catalyst, Lightspeed, D1 Capital, MSD & BDT, and Sator Grove, along with our angels and advisors. This $250M Series B fundraise enables us to increase the scale of our ambitions to build a generational AI holding company. We are hiring across many roles! Check out our careers page.

Too many VCs are funding AI companies that should be features. 12+ startups have raised $72.8M in the last few months for AI visibility (SEO for LLMs). We built it in 3 weeks with 3 people and shipped it for free.

Some private companies are discovering they’re worth more in public than in private. It’s a strange inversion that I’ve been noticing specifically in 2025. On the week of Navan's IPO, I want to call out Figure and Navan as perfect examples. Both are growing fast and running disciplined, profitable businesses. If either had tried to raise a private round today, most growth investors would pass because they don’t fit the current "AI narrative." Private capital has tunnel vision. LPs want AI and 'certain logo' exposure, GPs chase, and everything else gets de-prioritized, even when the fundamentals (Growth, Profitability) are there. But public investors don’t care whether Silicon Valley likes you. They care about growth, profitability, and predictable execution. When those boxes are checked, strong valuations follow. That’s why Figure went public around $6B and traded up 40%. Private markets didn’t "get" the story, but the public market priced the results. Private investors chase their conventional wisdom while public investors price out the math. We will see a wave of “ZIRP-era phoenixes” following this path. Strong businesses that were written off too early, now finding fair value in the open market.

It’s official – I’m excited to introduce Alloy (@alloyapp), the world’s first tool for prototypes that look exactly like your product. All year, PMs and designers have struggled with off-brand prototypes – built with “app builder” tools that look nothing like their existing app. They’re left with confused stakeholders, prototypes they can’t show customers, and demos where they’re apologizing for the design. Your prototypes should look like your actual product. Starting today, they can. Alloy is AI Prototyping built for Product Management: ➤ Capture your product from the browser in one click ➤ Chat to build your feature ideas in minutes ➤ Share a link with teammates and customers ➤ 30+ integrations for PM teams: Linear, Notion, Jira Product Discovery, and more In lab results, Alloy delivers 3-5x more detail than alternatives when you start from an existing product. It’s powered by groundbreaking technology you won’t find in any other tool. Alloy is now available for you to try for free. Comment “ALLOY” and I’ll DM you an invite with instant access and extra credits.

Three years ago I got sick from something most people overlook: mold exposure. Today, that journey comes full circle: we’re announcing MoldCo’s $8M Seed (total $11M), led by @cantos + @collabfund, to build the new standard of care for mold and chronic inflammation. The mission is clear: to serve patients who’ve waited far too long for answers. To celebrate, we’re giving away 50 free lab tests. Comment “labs” to claim one and we’ll DM you!

zoomer girl just showed me what the musically inclined youths are listening to these days and as usual it's yung lean/bladee clone #29823 got me thinking, at what point is it no longer absurd to claim that Yung Lean is a more worldhistoric figure than Bach/Mozart/Wagner etc.

its hard to pinpoint exactly when it happened, but sometime in the last five years our world shifted from most people being resonable, high social trust actors to grifting, scamming, and violence being the norm and i don't think we're going back to high trust society.
