Sad to report that Ghana has defaulted on a slew of UK taxpayer backed loans around £27m in total, that someone in Government thought was a good idea guaranteeing. Please can you all work some overtime, so there is enough tax money in HM treasury to pay it off.

During the leadership contest last year, I argued that election of Zack Polanski would prove divisive for politics. I think I'm being proved right already. In my first ever general election, I carried a quote on my election leaflet that "Greens continually challenge the lowest common denominator approach to politics". That's clearly not what we're doing in Gorton. We are feeding, exacerbating & exemplifying worst excesses of sectarian bloc electioneering as if the end justifies the means.

Should the FA choose to formally investigate, the probe may be focused on FA Rule E3.1, which covers general behaviour.

Asylum seeker Sheraz Malik, 28, has been found guilty of two counts of raping a woman in a park in Nottinghamshire. The 18-year-old victim who told a jury how she called out “no, no, no” as he raped her in June last year. The trial had to be moved away from Nottingham and to Birmingham Crown Court after remarks were made on social media by Reform MP Lee Anderson at the time the defendant was charged. That decision was made by Judge Nirmal Shant KC, Honorary Recorder of Nottingham, who also wrote to the Ashfield MP requesting him to remove his online comments to ensure Malik had a fair trial away from potential local jurors who may have read about the case ahead of being selected. At that earlier hearing she also imposed a reporting restriction “postponing publication of the defendant’s immigration status until the trial is concluded”. The trial heard how Malik, of Bath Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, and another man “decided to take advantage” of the 18-year-old and forced themselves on her one after the other. After the first man dragged her to a fence and carried out his sex attack, he took her back to his group where the defendant took her away and raped her as she said “no, no, no, I don’t want this.”

@andyjlennox Yeah but you get such great government help for that… such as an increasingly difficult regulatory/ licensing regime that is costly to comply with and then enforced by the people you pay tax to to enforce 😭

🚨Breaking News🚨 It can now be confirmed that the “two 17 year old boys from Leamington” in this story are actually Afghan boat migrants. A 15 year old girl was “abducted” away from her friends and raped by one of them, as he called his friend & told him to “come quick” and do the same. Barristers for the two asked that their names & the fact they are Afghan migrants was not revealed. The judge thankfully decided to lift reporting restrictions, meaning that it now can be reported. The victim asked for help from other women & they ignored her (until one actually helped her) Her and her families lives have been ruined and the girl now gets so anxious she is physically sick 💔 I am furious about this story. Furious that we have to live like this.
