The 2023 Georgia Bulldogs had won back-to-back national titles, 29 games in a row, and 41 of its last 42 games before a 27-24 loss in the SEC Championship with Brock Bowers, Ladd McConkey and Amarius Mims injured (all top 34 picks a few months later). Left out of the playoffs.

I’m trying to think of another occasion where 4 points separated a team from a perfect season and people were generally okay to see that team miss the playoffs. Any examples come to mind?

The organization has to take an inward look at how we’re developing these young arms. It’s becoming a laundry list of young pitchers who showed incredible promise just to require elbow surgery 1-2 years later. It’s beyond coincidence

The Braves needed to add a starting pitcher when it was known they'd be counting on two SPs (Holmes and Lopez) with injury concerns. Now that they know they'll spend time without both Waldrep and Schwellenbach, that need has become a dire necessity.
