@CameronRestall Matthews is good with the ball at his feet and I think he and Dia make a good pair. One of the reasons behind injuries is that we don’t rotate and it would be great to have a solid backup pairing we could rotate in for midweek games and cups.

It’s just something I’m mulling over. And, yes, I know that Bethell’s not an established opener and I do remember the failed Dan Lawrence experiment 😬 I’d counter that, however, with the fact that Lawrence isn’t even a number 3 — he’s a number 5 or 6 — and that Bethell’s probably a better batter than Lawrence and has a (gulp) “higher ceiling” 🤦 What do you reckon? Have I gone mad?

Would love to see some fringe players given opportunities over the next couple of games. Looks like a few players need a deserved break... And be good to see what Blair, Bowat, Le Roux, Waddingham etc do with the opportunity #pompey

I'm no expert, but it's not hard to see why we can't score. Our wingers stay very wide, and our no10 (Chaplin/Swift) drops into midfield, completely isolating the striker. We either need wingers to get inside their fullbacks, or we need to stick with Segs in the 10 #Pompey
