Pat Ngongba II is in a tough spot. You’d love to see him stay, keep developing his immense skill set, and be a major piece for Duke next year, but his injury history adds risk. Does he return to refine his game, or enter the draft and avoid further risk?

Jon Scheyer’s reputation is going to be blowing leads in big games, but once this cools off, we’ll remember he’s one of the best coaches in the sport. Nobody wants to hear it right now (even Duke fans) & the timing of this tweet isn’t ideal, but he has proven that he’s WAY more than a recruiter. Duke is going to be Duke until he retires. He isn’t going anywhere.

No slight toward anyone on this Duke roster, but in my opinion having a point guard who simply demands the ball be in their hands in clutch situations is how you avoid crucial turnovers and blowing leads, and I'm ready for that...

Respectfully disagree. 2024 starting lineup had 5 NBA players, two of which are 1 and 2 in ROY race. Cam is a top 3 pick. Isaiah and Dame are likely first rounders if they chose to leave. I love our recruiting class for next year, but I don’t see a material difference between next year’s team and these past two years. Hard to beat a lineup with 5 pros 😂

I hate to say this. But I completely agree. I wondered if Duke as a program would rebound from last year up until 30 mins ago they did just that. I just don’t know what you tell your players - how do you say “we’ll get em next year” I just don’t know how Duke comes back.

When Duke lost to Houston a season ago, we thought that would be the end. Instead, this team gave us an amazing season. Proud of this team and everything they fought for. 💙 Retaining Pat, Caleb, Cayden, Nik, Wilkins, and Darren should be priority No. 1.

We will ‘luck’ into championships by way of pure volume. If we put together 10 #1 recruiting classes, we’re bound to get lucky eventually. The problem is that THAT isn’t sustainable. Jon is blowing leads with multiple lottery picks - I have absolutely zero confidence that he can produce results with coaching alone. Ironically, the 2011 championship would NEVER happen under Jon’s watch. Now, do I think Jon will become better over time? Certainly. But he will NEVER have better rosters than what we’ve assembled these past two years. So he better coach up, before our good fortune with recruiting talent has a hiccup.
