Grateful to the JLC for arranging this opportunity for Camp Simcha and other care organisations in the Jewish community to discuss a range of challenges faced by our beneficiaries and charities within the sector.

We are deeply shocked and saddened by the terrorist attack in Manchester today, on Yom Kippur - the holiest day of the year. The entire Camp Simcha family stands in solidarity with those directly affected, their families and the wider community. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very painful time.

📣 Announcement 📣 We are delighted to announce that the services of Crohn’s and colitis charity Jewish Digest are to be integrated into Camp Simcha. Jewish Digest was founded a decade ago, with a focus on helping to raise awareness, remove the stigma and provide support for patients and families with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Among the 50 conditions we support, Camp Simcha already provides short-term help for families who have a child newly diagnosed with Crohn’s or colitis, while they stabilise their child’s condition. The two charities have collaborated in the past on information events and co-referring, so providing the full breadth and longevity of support under one umbrella was an obvious next step, explains Camp Simcha Chief Executive Daniel Gillis. “JDigest @ Camp Simcha will provide long term assistance to children and families coping with this chronic illness in the form of support groups, information events with IBD medical professionals and practical support from when they are diagnosed. “Despite being almost completely volunteer-led, Jewish Digest has been able to achieve incredible traction and impact in the community,” says Mr Gillis. “With many families they help also being supported by Camp Simcha, it feels like we are the natural place for them to expand and professionalise an organisation that already supports a lot of people. “We are delighted to be able to house them and thrilled that Jewish Digest founders Yoni Jay and Deborah Eckstein will come on board to share their expertise and support with development and strategy.” Deborah says: “Camp Simcha is the ideal partner for Jewish Digest, and we are very much looking forward to being able to provide a better quality of services for young people with IBD.” {Pictured Jewish Digest Founder Deborah Eckstein with Camp Simcha’s Family Liaison Community Manager Joanne Woolich, who will be overseeing the new Communities of Support}

🐒 Monkeying around with Camp Simcha 🐒 Over 50 Camp Simcha families enjoyed a fabulous day out at @zsllondonzoo yesterday. There were lions, monkeys & penguins & even the sun made an appearance. It’s amazing to see the families enjoying days like these & giving them powerful positive experiences.

✨ Happy #internationalnursesday ✨ All of us at Camp Simcha would like to take this opportunity to send our own personal gratitude to you, the amazing superheroes, who work long shifts and provide comfort and reassurance to so many - in particular, our Camp Simcha families, with such unwavering dedication. As a small gesture of appreciation, some of the children we support helped us to create a thank you card which was delivered to various hospitals in both London and Manchester in time for #internationalnursesday.
