I have written to the new Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero to reaffirm my opposition to the proposed Green Hill Solar Farm. My letter brings together the concerns I raised during the examination and those consistently expressed by residents. Read it below👇

Congratulations to @YvetteCooperMP on her appointment as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care. She inherits one of the toughest briefs in Government, with patients waiting too long for care, NHS staff under immense pressure and social care still in need of long-term reform. But the NHS cannot thrive without a strong economy and more people in work. We will always support measures that improve care for patients, while holding the Government to account for the results it delivers.

I wish Andy Burnham every success as Prime Minister. But it is my job to hold him to account. Every announcement he makes should be properly funded. We cannot borrow more money and the tax burden is already too high, so the only answer is spending cuts. I will work with him in the national interest to find savings from the benefits bill. If we reach agreement, my Conservative MPs will vote for those cuts in Parliament. That's the way to get Britain working.

It is welcome that the Government is continuing our work to raise the status of social care and improve career opportunities. But big promises on pay, backed by only £500 million and coming after higher employer NI and new employment costs, risk disappointing more than a million care workers.

A simple question went unanswered in today’s Health OPQs: is the NHS waiting list for planned treatment higher or lower than when Labour took office? The answer is higher. Ministers must prove patients are being treated faster, not simply removed from the list to claim progress.

Patients with serious neurological conditions should not be left waiting more than a year to see a specialist. The Government must explain how it will bring these unacceptable waits down and ensure urgent patients receive timely care. My comments in GB News 👇 gbnews.com/health/neurolo…

The news of Ann Widdecombe’s death is deeply shocking. Ann was a remarkable woman who never lacked courage or conviction. My thoughts are with her family and friends at this terrible time.

Yesterday, I joined @curecjdcampaign in Parliament to hear from families affected by this devastating disease. Many have faced unimaginable loss, and their voices deserve to be heard. Encouraging research into PRN100 offers hope, and it is vital that this work continues to be taken seriously.

The Conservatives will not be standing a candidate in this fake by-election.

This is very welcome news. I have met so many women, including constituents, who have fought for years to be diagnosed with endometriosis and taken seriously. This could make a real difference to women’s health and quality of life.

With senior doctors now voting to strike, it is clear Labour has failed to protect patients and taxpayers. Only the @Conservatives have the team, the plan and the leader with the backbone to ban doctors’ strikes once and for all.

Good to visit Three Shires Hospital in Northampton and meet the team delivering care for patients across the area. Independent providers can help expand capacity and get patients treated sooner. Thank you to Matthew Cook and his team for showing me around.

Speaking in Westminster Hall, I pressed the Government to turn its pledge to cut premature deaths from heart disease and stroke by 25% into a credible plan. The promised framework is overdue. Ministers must set clear milestones and report transparently on progress.
