@MattNippert An interview by Simon Collins was worth considerably more than one from other reporters. An article with a Simon Collins byline was always a solid read but infinitely worthwhile taking time over. Thank you Simon for a significant contribution to journalism and a better NZ.

The monk-like Simon Collins, a tireless reporter of real people and real problems, is clocking off from the Herald. He's been newsroom's spirit totem for 30 years and deserves all the gold watches.

@MattNippert Always sympathetic in an interview Simon never let that get in the way of unbiased truthful quality journalism. When he interviewed you he exposed unsound logic checking the veracity of information provided. When you were lacking detail or real knowledge he uncovered it quickly.

Over the past few weeks Leaders, male and female have been discussing gender equity within our leader ranks. We are making good progress and I am encouraged. I don't often quote political leaders but I agree we need compassionate and strong leaders, Male and Female. @SalvArmyIHQ

FYI I pray regularly. Nobody has ever told me not to. I talk about it often. In fact, many ask me for prayer, including some who don’t believe as I do. I’m not persecuted 😉

What a pleasure to listen this morning to the sensible contribution of Dr Shane Reti on his collaborative work with the Government on Covid Such a balance to the more political statement of others

Where are you attending a church service this weekend? Will it be in person, online, or some other way? Let us know!

@CampbellRoberts @MsWonderOutLoud Dear Campbell, this letter is to let you know some of us who care for others don’t automatically associate that with support for a particular political party.

Dear Jacinda The letter to you requesting places of worship to open is not from all people of faith. At this time of crisis we are too busy to be sitting in church. We are engaged with people in need and worshipping God as we work.

@BernardOBrien1 Thanks Bernard you are right. The challenge is for us as people of faith to include in our worship these people missing out using the range of communication tools available. Birthed in our faith is the God of creativity

@CampbellRoberts It’s very important to a lot of people. Just because you are busy ‘engaging’ doesn’t mean everyone is or can be. What a narrow minded petty approach you have to people’s needs during a time like this.

Under new guidelines issued by the UK and after nearly 60 days I met in person with the Chief of the Staff. This is one aspect of the old normal I want back. Thankful for good colleagues. @SalvArmyIHQ ...and no, these are not our motorcycles!@ChiefoftheStaff

I lead an International Movement. I try hard to embrace a global view. I find myself frustrated by a claim that COVID19 makes us all the same. Not so if you are poor or live in a nation where infrastructure is lacking. God help world leaders to think & act globally. @SalvArmyIHQ

@honpeterdunne @nzpolice That is true but you could ring or email privately the Commissioner of Police without undermining public confidence in them. More statements like that of Sir John Key today will help build a robust commonsense coalition where ideas are tested. Urge you in that direction

It's only day 1 and @nzpolice are already making a mess of the rules about people our walking & driving. They need to lighten up and recognise that especially in this unusual situation they need to work with people not against them. Still time to change. #Covid19

@honpeterdunne @nzpolice Peter you are a respected leader but at this time your critiques are not helpful. Can I suggest acknowledging what is working well would be a far more effective contribution to the future prospects of NZ

Happy New Year to New Zealand & other island nations in the South Pacific. 2020 has begun! By God’s grace I resolve, ‘to seek first His kingdom’, be confident His way is best, trust His truth and rely on His purpose for us. God bless you and be with you. @SalvArmyIHQ

The nativity scene reminds us that God did not remain invisible in heaven, but came down to earth and became man. To set up a nativity scene is to celebrate the closeness of God, to rediscover that God is real, concrete; He is humble Love that came down to us. #Nativityscene
