My mom has a small business in Germany making 300k in revenue per year.
- 150k are taxes,
- 25k in tax attorney costs
- a full work week for tax related bureaucracy
- 50k for Employees (and their taxes)
- 30-50k for goods
So she's left with 20-50k for working 60h a week. Dope.
This is how you destroy the middle class and the foundation for generational wealth, growth and prosperity.
Oh and Germany has 5m public servants (out of 45m working age)

After 6 iterations: fully analyzed dataset + an MD runbook so the next run is basically push-button.
My analysts would’ve burned a week (and still not have a model this clean).

Here’s the most impressive thing about Claude for Excel:
It’s intuition on how to structure a model and build input levers at exactly right level, and outputs in the right format is very impressive.
Better than a typical analyst.
That means not only does the time spent actually building the model (ie analyst) go to zero, but the time of the person specifying the requirement of the model (ie CFO) is reduced.
They get what they want with less of their own time.
Not just org level productivity, but personal productivity.
That will have a profound impact on how quickly it gets adopted in the decision making seats.
What a time to be alive…

My wife woke up yesterday jumping from excitement
She just received a job offer from Google
"Babe, they want to pay me $300k, $100k base plus $200k in stock options" she said
I sat down and held her hand
"Sweetheart, that means they are offering you just $100k"
"No look, it says total compensation is $300k"
I gently closed her laptop
"Stock options are imaginary money, it's a well known American scam, it's not real" I said
"But I could just sell them for cash?" she asked
I tried not to laugh, women can be so naive sometimes
"That's not how stocks work. Who told you this?"
She said her recruiter explained it
I sighed. Of course. An American filled her head with nonsense
"Baby, American stocks are worthless, it's imaginary shares from an imaginary company"
"But it's such a good offer" she started crying
"I know, baby" I hugged her, and right there I knew I needed to act
It's my job as a husband to shield her from American predators
Later I emailed the recruiter and declined on her behalf
I explained that my wife is not interested in fantasy compensation from a failing company
We are European. We don't fall for American tricks
She will keep her job at SAP making €43,000 a year, which puts her above most women in Germany
Feels good knowing I protected our future

Reports coming out of Germany show a government sidelining patient autonomy and limiting people's abilities to act on their own convictions when they face medical decisions. That is why Friday, I sent a letter to Germany's Federal Minister of Health, Nina Warken.
In my letter, I made it clear that Germany has the opportunity and the responsibility to correct this trajectory, to restore medical autonomy, to end politically motivated prosecutions, and to uphold the rights that anchor every democratic nation.

HUGE update to Claude Code today. You can now access Claude Code and your local files via the Claude Desktop app. No more terminal window!
Simply open the desktop app, select Code and press the install button. Thereafter, just select your folder and away you go.

@elenakvcs Sharing. I am a finance guy, I have built a transfer pricing calculation engine in 14 hours with Claude code. My team was shocked, it is fully auditable and accurate. Just as an example. I have been building useful things non stop since November, it is like a superpower.

Interesting historical analogy. The Korean War was another 3-year war with tremendous losses on both sides and largely stalemated by 1953. The American client, South Korean leader Syngman Rhee, wanted to keep fighting. Eisenhower made him sign the armistice. Great leadership.

There is historical precedent for President Trump’s latest. Dr. Carter Malkasian, author of The [1953] Korean War: “Rhee [President of South Korea] vociferously opposed the armistice. He wanted Korea unified and all Chinese forces withdrawn from Korea. Koreans filled the streets of Seoul and other cities throughout South Korea to demonstrate. Most South Koreans supported President Rhee’s stance that an armistice should not be concluded until North Korea was liberated. Rhee was intransigent.”
