My friend who’s a New York resident wanted to buy Monad today (my advice of course). He’s kinda a newb so only has coinbase and phantom. Since he’s NY he can’t buy MON on coinbase. I said buy USDC and send it to your MON address on phantom. Nope couldn’t do that - only can send USDC to Ethereum and Base. So I sent him USDC (and a tiny bit of MON for gas) from my self custody wallet to his. Then he bought MON using Mace. Glad he’s on chain now, but WTF with these regulations in New York State??? It’s insane.
