LET'S TALK CITIZENSHIP W/IN THE REPUBLIC Lay that bs to rest, shall we? CITATIONS FROM: Citizenship Act, R.S.C. 1985, c. C-29: Citizenship is a federal matter. Provinces have zero jurisdiction over it. Reference re: Secession of Quebec, [1998] 2 SCR 217: Supreme Court confirmed: No unilateral secession. Negotiation required. No guaranteed outcomes. Constitution Act, 1867, s. 91: Citizenship, naturalization, and aliens are exclusive federal jurisdiction. Not provincial. EVER. LET'S ROCK (LOBSTER) 😏 If Alberta separates, you don't automatically keep Canadian citizenship.🤗🤗🤗 Citizenship is federal. FULL STOP. Constitution Act, 1867, s. 91 lists citizenship as EXCLUSIVE FEDERAL jurisdiction. Alberta has never had - and CAN NOT have - authority over it. There is NO unilateral exit. Supreme Court ruled in Reference re: Secession of Quebec [1998] 2 SCR 217 - That separation requires negotiation. What you'd keep, including citizenship, gets decided at that table. Not by Alberta alone. What happens to your passport when it gets negotiated? What happens to your healthcare reciprocity when it gets negotiated? What happens to your pension when it gets negotiated? You don't get to assume the answer is "everything stays the same." Because that makes you an 'a**' of the highest order. They're selling you independence. They're not telling you what it costs. That's the part worth asking about. And for the ones relying on daddy douchedon to save you? Hope you know what you're REALLY going to get with that option. Be well. Be LOUD. Be love. 💖😊

@222Minutes Alberta has NO SAY in how Canada decides their citizenship after separation. It's pure FEDERAL JURISDICTION. Again. They have to start from scratch.

@CanadianPro2 What specific Canadian laws will dictate how an Alberta passport is treated by the international community? Maybe next time read your reply out loud before you post it.

Danni just can't help herself. Instead of voting with methbillies for separation to give Dani, Billionaires, American oil and gas greater leverage over Canada... Vote against separation to diminish and humiliate Dani, UCP, Billionaires, and American owned Alberta O&G... Say NO to Greed & a Power Grab.

@CanadianPro2 The presumption you base your assumption on is categorically wrong.

Im seeing this EVERYWHERE today. Maybe the silliest argument made yet. There is no way to revoke Canadian citizenship, with one exception: Under the Citizenship Act (primarily section 10), the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (or the Federal Court) can revoke citizenship only if satisfied on a balance of probabilities that the person obtained, retained, renounced, or resumed citizenship: By false representation By fraud By knowingly concealing material circumstances None of these apply to an average Albertan following secession from Canada. Canada COULD enact new laws, but as it stands, this is a baseless threat.

@burr3276 @DerAchsenZeit @MrCrumbsbody That stop him from Venezuela at all? Kidnapping and arresting a foreign president? Starting a war with Iran? I trust nothing from the usa right now. They can't control themselves.

@DerAchsenZeit @CanadianPro2 @MrCrumbsbody Well the US military told Trump no to an Illegal command to invade Greenland. It stands for Canadians who fought and died on the same battlefields. So unless Lindsey and Ludnick invade us. I don't expect any reaction.

@CanadianPro2 No I'm talking about how no one has made any arguments in either direction whether an Alberta passports will treated differently than Canadian passports by the international community.

Hear me as a retired defense lawyer when I say this: he knows he raped her. When you read a post like this—which confirms $100M wasn’t enough to shut this rapist up; Carroll will have to sue him again—think of what a psycho you have to be to know what you are and still post this.

🚨 DAMN. Ruby Bridges said the moment she finally understood what was happening during school integration was when a little white boy told her: “My mom said I can’t play with you because you’re a nigger.” She was SIX. And she said hearing that felt like “a huge weight lifted,” because suddenly everything made sense. Why the classrooms were empty. Why adults were screaming. Why U.S. Marshals had to escort her to school. Not because of anything she did. Just because of the color of her skin. A six-year-old child realizing an entire country was angry at her for existing.
