Yesterday I stood with my family as I took the Oath of Office via Zoom to become Regional Administrator for HUD in the Southwest. No one comes to public service singularly: we come with our lives, our families, and our communities, and they come as they are.

This morning I called James and congratulated him on becoming the Senate nominee. Texas is primed to turn blue and we must remain united because this is bigger than any one person. This is about the future of all 30 million Texans and getting America back on track. With the primary behind us, Democrats must rally around our nominees and win. I’m committed to doing my part and will continue working to elect democrats up and down the ballot.

@bluegeorgia Spoken like a man who understands and respects the Office of Inspector General. These folks see the worst kind of corruption on a regular basis, and they routinely don’t say a peep outside of their organization other than to do their work.

Thom Tillis: I want to submit this letter from the office of Inspector General that cites 10 different instances where they've been misled and not allowed to pursue investigations. That's a failure of leadership. And that is why I've called for your resignation. *Applause* I don't want applause. If I don't get an answer to these questions, I'll be informing leadership that I'm putting a hold on any en bloc nominations.

On this Sunday morning, I ask you for prayers for the victims and impacted families of last night’s shooting in Austin. We shouldn’t have to wake to news of such unnecessary tragedy. Life is precious. On that we can all agree. We must work much harder to protect it. As we learn more, let’s treat these developments and each other with humanity and care.

Junior staff members aren’t so jaded that they’ve stopped thinking with empathy and creativity. Even when they aren’t right, you can always give them the context from your experience and see where they go.
Lottie Ash@latteash

An important reminder to Dem Politicos: empower your junior staff to speak up and share their ideas, and--more importantly--actually take the time to *hear* them. It's time to swing for the fences, but the longer you work in politics the more tired, and cautious, you get (1/5)

@admcrlsn @umichvoter Have any black people on this app accused you of being racist??? I can’t put my finger on it, but your vibes/motives are just a bit “odd.” This isn’t just “I want this candidate to win.” It seems like you REALLY REALLY want her 2 black women to lose….

I’ll watch #SOTU2026 tomorrow. Tonight I spent listening to @michaelharriot talk about Black AF History. (I’m sure it was better for my blood pressure.)Thanks so much to @TXOrgProject for organizing and moderating.

@NilesGApol To Allred’s credit, he flipped his seat from red to blue against an entrenched Republican after a primary and a runoff. His seat wasn’t packed in redistricting until 2021.

I’m sure Chris knows this and is just being disingenuous on purpose but Beto, Castro and Allred each represented or currently represent districts where the Democratic primary is basically the general election. These were the margins in Talarico’s first couple of races…

Christopher Bouzy (spoutible.com/cbouzy)@cbouzy

Beto, Castro, and Allred have all won Congressional races. But that isn't the point. James Talarico's entire brand is built on coalition building, and he couldn't even build a coalition with members of his own party. That is why we keep calling him Fetterman 2.0.

Not for nothing but another reason why Talarico couldn't feasibly switch to governor is the fact he wouldn't be able to transfer his senate finances to a state race. So Crockett was effectively asking him to light all the money he raised on fire
mavsmarie@mavsmarie

If we’re going tit for tat now, Let’s take this portion of the article which confirms Jasmine DID ask James to move aside to the Governors race for her to run, to which he declined because his FRIEND Gina Hinajosa was running, and he would not interfere at the last minute.

@DavidGriscom Actually, that’s not true. You can’t transfer state to federal, but you can transfer federal To state.

Thank you to @collectivepac for endorsing me alongside these amazing Texas leaders. Black Texans are constantly trying to fend off voter suppression at every level, but we still fight the good fight for everyone. "Our power is in our unity and in our numbers." Rev. Jesse Jackson.
Collective PAC@CollectivePAC

We’re excited to endorse a new class of leaders who are stepping up with vision, courage, and a commitment to their communities. We’re proud to stand behind those who are ready to do the work. If you're in Texas, be sure to support these candidates! #BuildBlackPoliticalPower
