Rep. Thompson: Democrats want to fund TSA, FEMA, CISA, and the Coast Guard, and have repeatedly offered a deal to do that. However, Republicans have blocked all of them. Republicans control every part of the government. Republicans could pay TSA agents today but choose not to.

So let me get this straight… Donald Trump is pressuring Republicans to restrict mail-in voting for everybody else — while he’s sitting at home voting by mail himself? He's literally urging Republicans to withhold TSA agent’s paychecks until they pass his voter suppression bill — the so-called “SAVE America Act”.

I'm suing the Trump administration for illegally threatening to withhold billions in critical @USDA funding unless states comply with their political priorities. This would cause chaos for states that need these funds to feed families, support farmers, and keep communities safe.

It has been over 30 days since TSA workers have seen a paycheck because Donald Trump wants to play partisan games.   Democrats have introduced SEVEN bills to fund TSA, but Donald Trump is throwing a tantrum, demanding that Republicans fight with Democrats until his voter suppression bill — the so-called SAVE America Act — is passed.   At a time when groceries, gas, and housing continue to rise, families cannot afford to miss another paycheck.  Now is the time for Republicans to finally find their backbone, stop appeasing Donald Trump, and vote to fund TSA. Republicans in Congress have a duty to represent the people who sent them here — not Donald Trump.   ICE is completely out of control. These rogue agents have done nothing but cause chaos and terrorize our communities.   Now, Trump wants to hand them even more responsibility. We are talking about people who have already shown they are unqualified and untrained to do their own jobs — and now they want them handling airport security? This is going to create even more chaos and make the American people less safe. This mess belongs to Trump and Republicans, and they have the power to end it today.

BREAKING: Delta is suspending its special service desk for members of Congress until TSA is fully funded, per @AJC. Delta says members of Congress will now be treated like all other flying customers.

BREAKING: Republican Senator Kennedy just blamed Trump the government shutdown! "The Democrats have offered to open up everything but ICE. Ted Cruz and I said, ‘OK let’s accept their offer…’ Senator Thune submitted that to President Trump. As is his right, [Trump] said ‘No! No deals with the Democrats.’ It would have worked. We could have had TSA paid by the end of the week but the President said ‘no deal.’” This is the DONALD TRUMP SHUTDOWN! Even Republicans are acknowledging it.

The day the Affordable Care Act passed was one of my proudest moments as president, because it meant that millions of Americans would have access to health care, some for the first time. The ACA also prevented insurance companies from denying people with pre-existing conditions coverage, allowed young people under the age of 26 to remain on their parents’ plan, expanded Medicaid, and so much more. But the ACA was always meant to be a first step. We still have to do more to expand access and make health care more affordable for everyone.

I’m so very honored to vigorously represent Texas 30 in the Congress until Jan of 2027 and am back in the ranker seat today.
