I think part of the reason the Boomers don't understand the Gen Z demoralization on society and the economy, is that generally, Boomers believe you suffer now, and it gets better later. Gen Z believes they are suffering now, and it won't get better later.

My 95 year old grandmother pays $2000 in property taxes & another $3000 in school taxes every single year on a house that was built in 1850 that is falling apart. She was widowed in 1973 & as a single mother of 6 worked everyday of her life until she was in her mid 70s. She gets $10,000 a year from the federal government to live on, but once you subtract $5000 in taxes she is left with $5000 for the rest of the year to buy food, supplies & bills. Are people really this uneducated on this issue? Oh my god.

We have legal medical cannabis in most US states and recreational cannabis is legal throughout Canada.
Same sex marriage is legal.
I can own a home, have my own credit, and have the same legal rights as my husband. That wasn't true when I was a kid.
Most kids have access to free education up through at least 2 years of community college in most areas of the US.
Other things? Not so great, you are right.
