Off to Sonoma this AM. It took about 1 hour and 10 mins for me to get thru the @ATLairport this AM so for as crazy as it looked, it wasn’t the end of the world. Having said that, we need to pay the TSA, everyone of them I encountered this AM was lovely.

Well, I dropped a thousand bucks getting all new spark plugs and ignition coils on my BMW 650. I was hoping this would fix the drivetrain error and the fact that the thing is in "limp mode." That means at low speed, it chugs like it's gonna die. The mechanic told me that he was also seeing some errors with the high pressure fuel valves. Apparently, these are something that causes the engine to spray fuel into the motor at high pressures to deal with the turbo and all that. Anyway, long story short, fixing the plugs and the coils didn't solve the problem. Now I've got to drop another $1,500 on the fuel valves. So now I'm into this thing for about $2,500. 😥 That's the problem with these eight-cylinder twin turbo engines. It's just a matter of time before they COST you. It's too bad because I was planning to sell this car and get something newer, but now I have to do the repairs first, because nobody's going to buy it chugging down the street.

@RaceCanada_ca For sure. Cupra (VW) is still paying the OEM entry fee for the season, too. TCR is awesome! Mini FWD GT3 cars. Lol. I was car chief and helped engineer the first NA TCR championship car back in 2018. Was a hell of a season. If you get a chance to look one over, take it. 👌

Good on IMSA for doing this then, you hate to see someone waste a lot of money for events out of their control. I was watching from work, and all of a sudden noticed Dupont wasn't there and wondered what happened. TCR looks like a fun car to drive, that must have been a blast!

I'm not really sure how a Cupra, not sold anywhere in North America, can run in this series.

@RaceCanada_ca Exactly. Gou racing committed first, after Audi dropped their support. (Same chassis as the RS3) Victor committed shortly after, Switching from Hyundai. If you were watching the race, Denis Dupont (76) who was leading before a tire puncture, is Canadian. I ran his TCR in 2023.

Iran is proving how NATO provides little to no benefit to the US. Not only does the US not need any help from NATO, they aren’t willing to help anyways. NATO gives Europe security assurances via our military, without paying their share. We, the US taxpayer, essentially pay for the defense of Europe, and we receive nothing in return. We don’t need NATO, but they DESPERATELY need us.
