@highbrow_nobrow That’s YOUR side of the border Carney. You like to throw that at the US about the Drug trade. Stop every car and search them. I’m a gun owner. We are an actual FREE NATION, Canada is not

Canadian PM Mark Carney says criminals exploit “irresponsible American gun laws” and weak U.S. border enforcement to move illegal firearms into Canada, saying U.S. platforms have become “seas of racism, misogyny, antisemitism, Islamophobia, and hate.”

@cryptosmithcoco @RonChrist1954 Alberta is a very distant third largest economy in Canada. Ontario’s economy is 2-3 times larger than Alberta’s.

@JamR0K @theepicmap The White House was built between 1792-1800, which was 14 years before the burning of Washington. Troops set fire to the Capitol, the White House (then called the Presidential Mansion,) the Library of Congress, and other government buildings.

@theepicmap “Canadian forces” marched into Washington?? There were no Canadian forces in 1812. Those were British soldiers wearing British uniforms living on British bases being paid by the British monarch.

@fuckkiev @earlyadopterz @DudespostingWs Calgary is typically much colder and snowier than Ottawa that time of year. It was a highly unusual snow storm for that time of year in Ottawa.

@earlyadopterz @DudespostingWs They could also have moved it to calgary (one of the teams playing, but they officially didn’t have home advantage). It was +15C that day in calgary

The Canadian Premier League Final in Ottawa was played as temperatures dropped to −8°C. Snow kept delaying the match, with field lines being cleared every 15 minutes. Insane.

Canadian city populations (CMA) for 2025 are out. Big growth over the past 4 years. Toronto over 7 million. Calgary nearing 2 million. Winnipeg so close to 1 million! Halifax over half million. Victoria almost half million. Saskatoon pulling away from Regina.

@fr_cdn @EricDLombardi LOL. None of that is even remotely true. Ottawa is 1.3 million, Metro-Ottawa is 1.7 million. Cherry picking "boroughs" doesn't change that.

@CapitalCity613 @EricDLombardi Ottawa is a patchwork of boroughs. Consider the core of what is Ottawa: Ottawa Ctre 126k Ottawa W Nepean 116k Ottawa S 106k Ottawa Vanier 127k total: 475k What's the population of Laval again? 443k. Combining the density population of these areas is just over that of Laval.

@EricDLombardi Laval is as big as Ottawa. That being said, no reason to connect Peterborough (should go by Kingston and Brockville). Trois-Riviere connection and QC City can make sense but not a priority. Line should also connect London, Kitchener, Windsor.

@TedWhite59 @SunGarrioch @OttawaCitizen …and the Scotiabank Arena (originally Air Canada Centre) in Toronto was built for $265M ALL funded by MLSE, as well as the recent renovations ($315M) all privately funded. Last I looked, the Ottawa Senators were a sports entertainment BUSINESS entity, not a charitable cause.

Guy's buying a house. Calls me to look at foundation. Everything looks good. Ready to leave. Clean bill of health. Walk past a bookcase. Bookcase.... Why is there a big bookcase in this otherwise empty basement? <moves the bookcase> Hey buyer, come take a look at this...

@SunGarrioch Bruce, put your critical thinking hat on for a second. Do you think this looks like an arena at 91% capacity? Sure it’s the start of the period but looked much less to me even mid game.

Revised capacity of CTC is around 18,000 due to modifications and upgrades (previously 18,500). 18,000 is for #18 Tim Stützle. They didn’t say this but I know it is.
