@highbrow_nobrow That’s YOUR side of the border Carney. You like to throw that at the US about the Drug trade.
Stop every car and search them.
I’m a gun owner. We are an actual FREE NATION, Canada is not

@cryptosmithcoco @RonChrist1954 Alberta is a very distant third largest economy in Canada. Ontario’s economy is 2-3 times larger than Alberta’s.
English

@RonChrist1954 alberta has all the money, richest province in canada, it pays for everything
alberta can do what alberta wants
English

@ujiko @theepicmap Unfortunately, Ottawa does not have mild temperature
English

@JamR0K @theepicmap The White House was built between 1792-1800, which was 14 years before the burning of Washington. Troops set fire to the Capitol, the White House (then called the Presidential Mansion,) the Library of Congress, and other government buildings.
English

@theepicmap The Brits burned down the Executive Office, which was then rebuilt as the White House
English

@theepicmap “Canadian forces” marched into Washington?? There were no Canadian forces in 1812. Those were British soldiers wearing British uniforms living on British bases being paid by the British monarch.
English

@theepicmap Ottawa is pretty centrally located based on the Canadian borders at the time of confederation.

@fuckkiev @earlyadopterz @DudespostingWs Calgary is typically much colder and snowier than Ottawa that time of year. It was a highly unusual snow storm for that time of year in Ottawa.
English

@earlyadopterz @DudespostingWs They could also have moved it to calgary (one of the teams playing, but they officially didn’t have home advantage). It was +15C that day in calgary
English

@brent_bellamy The amount of people that don't understand what a metropolitan area is is staggering.
English

@fr_cdn @EricDLombardi LOL. None of that is even remotely true. Ottawa is 1.3 million, Metro-Ottawa is 1.7 million. Cherry picking "boroughs" doesn't change that.
English

@CapitalCity613 @EricDLombardi Ottawa is a patchwork of boroughs. Consider the core of what is Ottawa:
Ottawa Ctre 126k
Ottawa W Nepean 116k
Ottawa S 106k
Ottawa Vanier 127k
total: 475k
What's the population of Laval again? 443k. Combining the density population of these areas is just over that of Laval.
English

Why is there a stop in Laval?
HighSpeedRail Canada@HSRCanada
The Honourable Steven MacKinnon, Minister of Transport has revealed today that the Ottawa-Montreal corridor will be the first segment Alto high-speed rail project. MacKinnon, that construction is slated to begin in 2029-2030. highspeedrailcanada.com/2025/12/canada…
English

@fr_cdn @EricDLombardi Laval is NOT as big as Ottawa. Not even remotely close. 😂
English

@EricDLombardi Laval is as big as Ottawa. That being said, no reason to connect Peterborough (should go by Kingston and Brockville).
Trois-Riviere connection and QC City can make sense but not a priority.
Line should also connect London, Kitchener, Windsor.

@ReidLaxn @TedWhite59 @SunGarrioch @OttawaCitizen Except that MLSE is owned by Rogers who is a huge recipient of government funding.
English

@TedWhite59 @SunGarrioch @OttawaCitizen …and the Scotiabank Arena (originally Air Canada Centre) in Toronto was built for $265M ALL funded by MLSE, as well as the recent renovations ($315M) all privately funded. Last I looked, the Ottawa Senators were a sports entertainment BUSINESS entity, not a charitable cause.

BREAKING NEWS: Ottawa Senators lobbying provincial, federal governments for LeBreton Flats arena funding ottawacitizen.com/ottawa-senator… via @ottawacitizen
English

@ZZibby07 @SunGarrioch It’s tickets sold, not amount of ticket holders that drive through a blizzard to get there.
English

@SunGarrioch Bruce, put your critical thinking hat on for a second. Do you think this looks like an arena at 91% capacity? Sure it’s the start of the period but looked much less to me even mid game.

English

Tonight's attendance is 17,470 at the Canadian Tire Centre #Sens
English

@chabotts @pepitoluver Imagine thinking living with in a bland soulless condo tower and going to a Raptors game is peak living. 💀
Ottawa > Toronto
English

I like how they incorporated the Peace Tower in the A. Would still love to see the org eventually use the 'Bring Back the Sens' jerseys as an alternate.
Julian McKenzie@jkamckenzie
Going to be annoying and post one more photo. Here’s the back of the jersey’s collar.
English

@JulioHashem Us commoners want to know what these mods and upgrades are.
English

@GraemeNichols Not really sure why they’re building an arena for a team with no fans. Only times they sell out are when the Habs or Leafs are in town.
English

29 hectares at LeBreton and there is feigned outrage over 11 acres being bought and paid for by the Senators to build an arena - becoming an anchor tenant for the entire site.
Ottawa Citizen@OttawaCitizen
Pellerin: Sports delusions aside, we could do so much better at LeBreton Flats ottawacitizen.com/opinion/peller…

@MarkJCarney You should be commended for wearing a suit in this heat! 👏
