A lot of games have gone in this direction recently, but i don’t think any has actually replicated how effective the aesthetic is in this game. Right time right place for the level of technology. The pixelation of headshots is so dark, so very forward thinking in its satire

Kane & Lynch 2 is one of the coolest game I've played in years. Such an improvement over the first one it's not even funny. The use of camcorder shaky cam effects set in Shanghai with blown out audio turns this into one of the most intense game I've ever played. A classic

@CapitalF The Bogdanovich pilot with Bakula is definitely shot Bogdanovich style, lots of one-take scenes with actors walking in and out of shots, no coverage. So they either went with his cut as he was PB, or he didn't give them any coverage anyway! And it wasn't picked up, either!

I WILL say the idea that a director's shoot is "lacking coverage" is a fine thing! Shoot how you the artist the scene should play! Here's Bogdanovich laying out exactly he would shoot a scene in PICTURE SHOW.

@jfkenney Yup, if I was in charge, I wouldn’t have hired her since she just doesn’t seem like a fit for that style of show. It sounds like she was a Gellar pick and producers always try to get names. Though shooting coverage is tv directing 101 so I was surprised he wouldn’t get SOME 😂

Dawg, like, 8 months ago this dude randomly knocks on my door and he's like, "are you John Strawberry?" (not the actual name he said).
I'm like, "....No?" and he's like, "Well, do you know where he is or how to find him?"
I reply, "I have no idea who that is, sorry." and then I go on about my business and I forget about it.
Bro shows up again a few months later knocking on my door asking for John Strawberry. This time my wife answered the door and he's yapping about how he has to return something really important to him. My wife is like "??? Who the FUCK is John Strawberry ???"
Fast forward, this whacko shows up AGAIN. This time he parks outside my house. He knocks on the door. He says his car broke down and he needs help. I'm like, "weren't you the dude asking for John Strawberry?" and he's like, "Oh, do you know John Strawberry? How can I contact him?"
I'm like ???
This dude drives by my house now AT LEAST once a week. He rolls by real slow and takes a look and then leaves.
Then the police show up asking for John Strawberry. They say they have a warrant out for his arrest and my home was listed as last known good address.

If you haven’t been following this, Afroman’s lawyers have also had some incredible moments — including asking if any reasonable person would think that a man wearing a flag suit in court should be taken seriously

The Afroman Trial. -Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons. -Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up. -No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman. -Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras. -Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives. -During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat. -The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation. -Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit. -Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them. -One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife. -As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE. -The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman. This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.

@YallLuvCris I like both actors, I’m not insulting Stallone. I just think Willis had more range and I’d be faster to check out a newer Willis movie than Stallone. They both did their thing well but I think Willis had a more consistent track record

That’s a shallow take.
Stallone didn’t just play himself, he created two completely different characters in Rocky and Rambo. That’s range and authorship.
And “Willis can work with anyone” isn’t even true, he had a reputation for being difficult with multiple directors. So now that point doesn’t hold either.
One built iconic characters from scratch. The other was effective within systems, but not the same thing.

@YallLuvCris I think both of them largely brought a lot of their personas to the bulk of their roles, though I felt Rambo lost his way as the series went on. Interestingly, his best work was often when he wrote his own characters whereas Willis could work with whoever
