Good news. Spalletti is a very good coach, now the key objective has to be Champions League qualification. Without it, attracting top players becomes much harder, while playing on Thursdays would also make the domestic schedule far more demanding.

Bobby has consistently tried to temper expectations for the team and as you said, his actions at the deadline spoke volumes.

I hope more than anything that this is true. Elkann needs to have a greater hand in dealing this summer, loosen the purse strings and let the management team invest in the calibre of players needed. This cannot be another average summer with stop gap signings or bargain dealings. If we’re ever going to win anything again, they need to make a statement in who they sign.
