Hello everyone, I want to say that @WalletConnect Pay is wanted in Indonesia 🇮🇩 Recently, I started thinking about what it would actually feel like if crypto payments became part of everyday life in Indonesia instead of being limited to trading and investing. For daily essentials, I regularly shop at Alfamart. It’s one of those places you can find almost everywhere across the country and has become part of many people’s routines. Since I shop there pretty often, I asked the cashier what payment options they accept besides cash. They told me customers can already pay using cards or e-wallets through QRIS. Curious, I asked what payment provider or system they use. The cashier pointed to a Bank BCA EDC machine with the Castles branding on it. Since I’m already familiar with crypto, I asked another question: Do you think Alfamart could accept crypto payments in the future? The answer was simple but interesting. The cashier said they didn’t know because there’s no company policy around that yet. But they also mentioned that if the company eventually supports it and regulations allow it, they’d be happy to accept it. They’re simply following company policies and existing rules. That conversation made me realize something: the possibility is there. The real barrier may not be demand itself, but timing, regulations, and adoption. The infrastructure for digital payments is already growing fast in Indonesia, and consumer behavior continues shifting toward cashless experiences. Now imagine walking into Alfamart, grabbing your daily essentials, heading to checkout, opening your crypto wallet, connecting through WalletConnect Pay, confirming the payment, and being done in seconds. That might sound like a small thing, but for crypto users it would be a huge shift. Crypto stops being something that only lives on exchanges and starts becoming part of real everyday life. I’d love to see that happen in Indonesia one day. Paying directly from my crypto wallet for something as simple as daily shopping would be a pretty amazing experience, and I’m looking forward to that future. @wcthub ☕
