A 2% tax on wealth of £10m and above wouldn’t scratch the surface, no rich person will go hungry….but it would raise enough money to ensure no child goes hungry (5m do now) or lacks a bed to sleep in (1m kids have that problem) - we end poverty in our country by taking a tiny sum from a tiny number of very wealthy people - Let’s get on with it….

Billionaires are wealth hoarders. Workers are wealth creators. Let the billionaires go. Let's keep the doctors, nurses, carers, teachers, laborers. Let's keep those who keep Britain going.

Worth noting Labour bringing back Sure Start should be getting more headlines. A brilliant Blair-era policy scrapped by successive govts. It gave kids the best start in life, backed by evidence, and its removal hit families hard. Good to see it return. Credit where it’s due.

🚨Formal Complaint Concerning Article in The Spectator: “And now let’s bomb Glastonbury” The Commissioner @metpoliceuk @MetCC Dear Commissioner I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding the article published by The Spectator on 5 July 2025, entitled “And now let’s bomb Glastonbury”. It can be accessed via the following link: spectator.co.uk/article/and-no… The article poorly cloaked in satire appears to advocate, encourage, or glorify the use of a bomb (nuclear weapon) to target and kill attendees at Glastonbury Festival, an identifiable civilian population. The piece states, inter alia: “A small yield nuclear weapon … would immediately remove … everybody who is hugely annoying” This language cannot credibly be interpreted as mere satire or hyperbole It constitutes a call for mass lethal violence against a specific group of individuals attending a well-known, peaceful music festival Whilst it refers to a nuclear weapon those encouraged may utilise a conventional or improvised explosive device or other act of violence The headline alone may be sufficient to meet the threshold of a criminal offence noting that much of the context is behind a paywall I believe this may breach a number of criminal laws, including the following: 1. Section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2006 – Encouragement of terrorism It is an offence to publish or cause another to publish a statement that is likely to be understood by members of the public as a direct or indirect encouragement or other inducement to the commission, preparation, or instigation of acts of terrorism. While the article references a nuclear weapon (a weapon of mass destruction), its context and intent must be considered carefully. Should it be interpreted as serious or inciting violence, even through provocation or humour, it may fall within the remit of this section 2. Section 4 of the Public Order Act 1986 Fear or provocation of violence It is an offence to use threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a person to believe that immediate unlawful violence will be used against them, or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence 3. Section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986 Harassment, alarm or distress Even absent an intent to incite violence, words likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to the public may constitute an offence. Given the real-world implications and visibility of this article, this provision is clearly engaged 4. Section 127, Communications Act 2003 Criminalises grossly offensive or menacing messages sent via public communications networks 5. Part III, Public Order Act 1986 Prohibits publishing material likely to stir up racial hatred against ethnic or national groups. In this case references are made to Palestinian symbols therefore hatred against Muslims, Arabs and Palestinians I respectfully request that the Met Police conduct an investigation into this article & determine whether any criminal offence has been committed by: The author; The editors; The Spectator In my opinion the article appears to breach the threshold for incitement or encouragement of violence under UK law & may pose a serious threat to public safety, particularly in the context of rising tensions over political protests and state discourse around Palestine and related activism In an environment where public protest & legitimate criticism are being scrutinised under counterterrorism laws, it is essential that calls for lethal violence, even couched in “provocation,” be taken seriously regardless of the political or cultural affiliations of the author or the publication Note the Home Secretary’s decision to lower the threshold of terrorism to matters of protest evidenced by the Police arresting alleged supporters of Palestine Action today which means this article must have blasted through that threshold with the force of a ballistic missile, if the law is to be applied with even a flicker of consistency I would be grateful to be updated

The ban the burqa brigade forget their own history. Until very recently it was common for working class women to wear a scarf around their head and face when out to fetch the messages. Most of us grew up with a mammy, nanny or auntie at that carry on. This is just hate at work

Greta Thunberg is sailing to Gaza. If it weren’t so dangerously naive, it would almost be funny. She’s literally steering herself into the hands of Hamas — the terror group that murders its own people. How brainwashed do you have to be to think Hamas wouldn’t harm you, too? I encourage the Israeli authorities to allow her free passage to see who the “freedom fighters” she supports really are, and what Gazans actually have to say about them.

It will never not be fascinating how western progressives were intellectually captured en masse at this time by an imperialistic Islamist movement which stands opposed to every progressive value they claim to hold. When you think about it, it is wild, to see students and their professors marching in their keffiyehs against the only (tiny) liberal democracy in the Middle East as it battles for its survival, and in support of the jihadists which surround it, jihadists whose publicly stated goals are to convert or eradicate minorities, execute gays, adulterers and apostates, subjugate women, and whose many many victims are in fact overwhelmingly Palestinians and other Muslims from across the region. How the Islamist movement achieved this feat of PR will be studied for years to come. All of the sane Muslim states have crushed and banned the Islamists, knowing full-well the threat they pose, the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, etc. Yet among western ‘liberals’ and on western university campuses they are adored and celebrated. There are earlier precedents. Socialists and students in 1970s Iran helped Islamist revolutionaries to take power, after which the Islamists rounded up and killed them.

Ah, the tired “large gamete” lecture biological reductionism disguised as intellectual superiority. Congrats on Googling reproductive terms, but womanhood isn’t a petri dish you get to peer into and judge. If your entire identity hinges on what someone else produces between their legs, maybe it’s your masculinity that’s fragile, not their womanhood. You’re not defending biology you’re reenacting a caveman’s TED Talk. A surgically altered man? Please. What’s truly altered here is your grip on reality, not someone else’s dignity. @IndiaWilloughby femaleness isn’t your costume to critique, especially when you’re clearly confused about the difference between chromosomes and character. Now run along science class is over, and empathy’s in session. Try attending.

A woman is an adult human whose body is organised to produce large gametes. One easy way to tell if you're a woman is to ask yourself: have I ever produced sperm? If, as in your case, the answer is 'yes', you are a surgically altered man enacting a male idea of femaleness.
