So it’s a good practice in the sense of creating a psychological barrier for the person signing it thinking they can’t make a claim/take them to court because they signed the waiver? They don’t hold any real weight other than hopefully preventing someone to make a claim? Had to ask chatgpt 20 different ways to come up with this thought

@CaptainINS_ano They’re a good risk management principle—they’ll deter a lot of potential claimants from taking action. “Worth the paper they’re printed on” meaning they won’t hold up in court. Might as well be a paper basketball.

Can someone explain how waivers & insurance work together? For example: A moving company that has you sign a waiver saying we are not responsible for damaging your property A fencing company that has you sign a waiver saying they are not responsible for hitting any underground lines Do these waivers actually allow any damages to not fall back on them? Only if it’s negligent? How far can these waivers actually protect the company?

I see people always asking where in the world can they find someone who wants to be an insurance producer… Go to any golf course & find an assistant golf pro that is good with people & has a good work ethic. Tell him you’ll pay him more than $27k & he doesn’t have to work 70 hrs/wk or weekends/holidays Boom. Problem solved.

I insure a dump truck company that has been trying to find a driver for the past 6 months that is worth adding to their policy… They finally found one that checks all the boxes… We add him to the policy… 3 hours later he rolls the dump truck over taking a turn too fast on his 1st day.

I’m assuming the carrier wants to get away from all dump truck operations so instead of non-renewing — they just threw a big fat number out there. The guy didn’t call back to find out why. Ive confirmed the rates with my 2 carriers & have everything I need. Still kind of troubling though.

Just received a 1 unit trucking prospects renewal quote… They went from $24,000 to $230k on renewal… Switched him to another carrier for $11k. The trucking world is wild.

I have stayed away from trucking until now I decided to quote a 9 truck fleet O/O. It’s been a nightmare. I’ll never do it again. If they don’t fit in our captive….no thanks I’m out. Trucking definitely one of those lines that a person has to specialize in and have the markets to go to

No claim. I mean I could be wrong, but I called both these carriers to confirm these 2 new quotes because it was wild to me & they confirmed the rates. Reports have been ran. The renewing carrier isn’t typically known for dump truck operations, so my only guess is that they are pushing them out. Open to any thoughts y’all might have on this though.
