@hthieblot Showing up with 0 energy and 0 direction is just failing on a schedule instead of randomly. What actually works is knowing the smallest real move for today, so a low energy day still produces something instead of just attendance.

The difference between good and great is often just showing up every day even when you have 0 energy.

@danmartell Mostly agree. Six customer interviews in, I got the other version too. People who did know I existed, looked at what I built, and still said no. Distribution gets you in the room. It does not cover for the wrong hypothesis.

You don't have a quality problem. You have a "nobody knows you exist" problem.

@LeilaHormozi Mostly agree, with one addition: being disliked isn't the goal, it's just the tax. The real requirement is deciding something is worth doing before you know if people will agree with it.

If you're unwilling to be misunderstood, judged, and disliked... You're also unwilling to lead.

Went into building this thinking I'd found a real gap Atlassian hadn't covered. A team lead corrected me on how much of it they already handle. Anyone else build something before actually checking who else already solved it?

Everybody sucks when they start. Nobody remembers by the time you finish.

A time tracking tool doesn't fail because tracking is hard. It fails because nobody wants to be tracked. The real problem is coordination, not surveillance, and most tools in this space quietly built the wrong one.

Got a DM from another student building in public, studying medicine, working on a healthcare app. Different country, different problem, same late night energy. That's the whole reason to post any of this.

AI can write a script. It cannot give you taste. Automate the busywork. Never automate your creativity, taste, preferences, or judgment.

Everyone's worried AI will replace builders. What I've actually noticed is it makes the gap between someone with taste and someone without a lot more visible, a lot faster.

I use AI agents to help run my own content pipeline, cutting clips, drafting captions, checking my own notes before I post. It doesn't replace the thinking. It just removes the busywork so there's more time to think.

Spent about two weeks looking for a different problem to build instead. Every idea hit the same wall, something already existed, or it didn't bother anyone enough to pay for a fix. Less like searching, more like trying every door in a hallway and finding them all locked.
