@gtomlin Back in the days of industry there were also over 250+ pubs where people gathered after working there are now 96 pubs in the city centre. As a street pastor some are for gathering as community and connection.

Was in Sheffield today giving the bishop’s annual lecture. Struck me how many buildings in the city centre that were once centres of industry and business are now entertainment venues. A parable for our times - from thrift and labour to distraction and pleasure?

It was our last community meal of 2023. Back sun 7th jan 1pm. So we had a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. Thanks to all who came, helped & donated. Next Sunday 2pm is our Carol and Christingle Service. @AttercliffeCofM @ChurchArmy @DioceseofSheff @KalsiGina

3/3 - one person asked for prayer - gave details to a street dweller to get some help in the morning - one guy lost his phone so we tracked his mates on messenger and connected them together. Thank you God for the police. The ambulance teams and the door people.

2/3 - one lad, we had no idea how to help him. He rang a person to help him and he just happen to walk passed us. - two girls remembered us from the last time we helped them and she then prayed for me and Gina. - one ambulance was needed and it came in 10 mins. Amazing.

1/3 3.30am. Home after a very eventful night as @SSPastors on tramlines weekend. Wow did we see God at work. -The battery of the radio was dying we prayed and just as it died a door person said they had a spare we could use.
