Just wow. @davidhogg111, how awful and wrong. You exist because of what happened in Parkland and to Jaime. You had the chance to truly be against hate in all of its forms. You chose differently. Making this comparison is pure evil.

At first Gorbachev sneered at Putin as little more than an assistant to the mayor of St. Petersburg. He didn’t believe Putin could fix the mess he and Yeltsin had created. History proved Gorbachev wrong. Turns out you don’t have to be part of the nomenklatura to unite the people. You need to know, love and respect your country - the rest will follow.

@RosanneBopp3 @susanabulhawa That’s ridiculous. Women in power have routinely shown themselves to be just as brutal and craven as men. Many examples, including Ursula von der Liar and Kaja Callous, two of the biggest warmongers in Europe. And then there’s also this:

I don't think it's a red flag at all. It is required to be able to communicate your ideas effectively and sway voters to vote for you. You can have the best policies in the world but if you're not able to communicate them effectively you will lose to candidates with bad policies and a charming personality. Mamdani's biggest gift is that he made socialism, questioning our fealty to Israel, and tons of others taboo topic mainstream. If he wasn't charming or a good communicator it would've fallen flat.

The @cmkshama Breaking Points interview just dropped and it's phenomenal. The contrast with her Zionist, corporatist opponent Adam Smith could not be more clear. And her explanation of why her strategy differs from Zohran Mamdani's is incredibly compelling. youtube.com/watch?v=rMczzw…

The woman who had an affair with Gavin Newsom when they were both married (he was 38, she 33), says only he -- not she -- bears responsibility even though there was no coercion, because he had more "power." What a moronic, infantile way to immunize yourself from responsibility.

If you want to help the western empire administer war propaganda, one of the best ways to do this is to pretend the violence of empire-targeted governments happens in a vacuum, completely divorced from western imperial agendas. Pretend the protesters killed in Iran had nothing whatsoever to do with the known US-Israeli agendas to foment violence in that country and arm insurgent factions in order to topple Tehran. Pretend Putin's invasion of Ukraine had nothing whatsoever to do with NATO amassing a proxy force on Russia's border in ways the United States would never tolerate on its own border. Pretend Beijing's crackdown in Xinjiang had nothing at all to do with the west's obvious desire to balkanize China with the help of Uighur separatists. Pretend the "authoritarian" measures we've seen in nations like North Korea, Cuba and Venezuela happened completely separately from the western empire's efforts to infiltrate, subvert and take over those countries. Frame the US and its allies as mere passive witnesses to these dynamics, and the occasional revelation of CIA ops and State Department shenanigans as mere unrelated coincidences. Frame the use of force by empire-targeted governments as the reason for the empire's efforts to topple them, rather than as the product of those efforts. There is a reason why all the empire's enemies are willing to exert force to remain in power, and it's not because Washington is leading an alliance of virtuous democracy-loving angels in a fight against tyranny and oppression. It's because the US-centralized empire is the most tyrannical power structure on earth, and the only ones able to resist its agendas of total planetary domination are the ones who are willing to use force to thwart its efforts. The primary job of the empire apologist is to obfuscate this reality. If you want to help advance Pentagon propaganda and grease the wheels of the imperial psyop machine, that's where you focus your efforts.

See this is what I was talking about. Iran is WHY Donald Trump is no longer the central figure in American politics. Liberal pundits and politicians have been adequately reassured that he's going to keep the wars going and maintain the status quo, so they're cool with him now.
Caitlin Johnstone tweet media
Caitlin Johnstone@caitoz

Have you noticed how the liberal establishment hasn't been nearly as emotional and outraged about Trump's second term as they were about his first? Now that he's the president who bombed Iran, the entire western political/media class is cool with him. The term "Trump Derangement Syndrome" has always been used by the MAGA crowd as a blanket pejorative to protect the president from criticism, but during Trump's first term it wasn't entirely unfair. You'd see Democrats shrieking their lungs out over Trump doing things that other US presidents did all the time like cozying up with dictators and tyrants. They'd lose their minds over relatively sane things like Trump talking about moving troops out of Syria. The whole Russiagate thing was liberals going bat shit over a crazy conspiracy theory that caused them to push for the escalations against Russia which ultimately gave rise to the war in Ukraine. We're not seeing any of that in Trump's second term. That extra layer of screeching emotionality simply isn't there. There are no Russiagates or emotional support Maddows this time around. Democrats hate Trump, but they hate him about as much as they'd hate any Republican president. The emotional response to his second presidency is wildly, wildly different from the first. Which is nuts, because he's quantifiably far worse this time around. His domestic policies are much more tyrannical. He's as evil a warmonger as the White House has ever seen. He's so corrupt that he's just openly admitting to being bought and owned by Zionist oligarchs while making his family a fortune using the power of his office. Now that he doesn't have to worry about re-election, he's being completely nakedly monstrous. And what's creepy is that's WHY the liberal establishment is so much more mellow about him. They're no longer worried that he's going to promote "isolationist" foreign policy and roll back the US war machine. He went to war with Iran, so they like him now. Because they know he's fully compliant.

Only a few days separate Gaza City from complete collapse. What remains of life here is falling apart before the eyes of the world. Desalination plants have stopped, and bakeries, factories, power generators, and vehicles are shutting down one after another due to the lack of fuel and oil. Within days, ambulances and hospital services may completely stop. In hospitals, injured people and patients are dying because of the lack of medicine, medical equipment, and the resources needed to save their lives. There are no sufficient medical supplies, no prosthetic limbs for those who have lost their limbs, and no wheelchairs for the injured and people with disabilities. Most essential materials are being prevented from entering. There is no wood, no iron, no cement, and no materials to rebuild what has been destroyed. Even caravans and shelter units are not allowed to enter. Waste is piling up, and there is no ability to remove or manage it, increasing the spread of diseases and making life more unbearable day after day. The economy is collapsing, unemployment is rising at an alarming rate, aid is decreasing, and thousands of families are struggling just to obtain the most basic necessities of life. An entire city is being brought to a standstill before the eyes of the world. What is the world waiting for before it acts? If the world can see an entire city collapsing, injured people dying in hospitals, and people losing the most basic necessities of life… when will it finally move?

@NobleQAli When they say “authoritarian,” they actually mean the imposition of restrictions upon the “freedom” of the owners and controllers of private capital to exploit. But the intent is to conjure images of gestapos raiding a private home to arrest someone for insulting the President.
