I don't have adhd or anything but once, I tried my friend's Adderall and the world finally quieted. Weird static in my head vanished and it felt like I could actually think cleary. Finished all my tasks that day, met all my meetings on time. It was pretty cool.

Stronger by Young John is one of my favourite tracks by him. “Stronger” feels like crying in the bathroom so your kids don’t see, then coming out as if nothing happened. It’s for people who didn’t get a soft life but still found a way to keep going. Not because they’re okay. But because they have no choice.

one of my top pieces of advice to new moms is to ignore almost everything they hear from someone whose youngest baby is now an adult. they just don’t remember. they think they remember, but they’re actually remembering in vague terms what it’s like to have a 9 month old.

My mom stayed over last night. I keep trying to explain the 4 month sleep regression, but she says she doesn’t remember that and if baby keeps waking up and crying we should take her to the doctor. I am going to lose my mind

Another fear I have is becoming everything for everyone else and slowly disappearing in the process. Like pouring so much into being a good mum, partner, friend, that one day I look up and can’t even remember what I like, what I need, or who I was before all the roles. Because giving love is beautiful, but losing yourself in it? That part is very scary!

Lunch break being 30 minutes, like I'm in a speed-eating competition, by the time I sit down, it's already “wrap it up, guys” Give me a full hour so I can chew and reflect on my life choices properly😩

@TDeisine I remember when my first baby 👶 had rashes all over her body and the doctors were prescribing anti allergy medications for her and there was no changes for weeks. I called my mom and she told me to soak bitter leaf in gin and rob it all over her body, the rashes cleared in days!

This particular narrative skips a lot. Marriage isn't a contract for guaranterd sex on demand from women; its a partnership where intimacy reflects the health of the relationship. And if that part dissappears, its usually a symptom (resentment, stress, mental load, etc) not some free pass women get. Lets be honest, men are not universally taking up “100% of traditional duties” either and yet still expect access. And again, courts dont just take everything, it depends on whats fair for the kids, finance and caregiving roles. Also calling it “forced celibacy” as if someone owes you sex is exactly why the conversation gets shut down. The real problem is not “double standards” it's not addressing why the connection shuts down in the first place.

In Tokyo, there's a cleaning crew that does the impossible every 12 minutes. They're called TESSEI. They clean the Shinkansen bullet trains at Tokyo Station. When a train arrives, it stops for 12 minutes before departing again. Two minutes for passengers to exit. Three more for the next batch to board. That leaves seven. In those seven minutes, one person must: - Clean 100 seats - Wipe every tray table - Vacuum the floor - Rotate every seat to face the new direction of travel - Replace all headrest covers - Check the overhead bins - Bow to incoming passengers Seven. Minutes. They do this hundreds of times a day. Harvard Business School published a case study about them. The New York Times called it "the 7-minute miracle." Tourists now stand on the platform just to watch. Before they start, they bow to the train. When they finish, they line up and bow to the passengers. They're paid by the hour. Many are in their 50s and 60s. Japan didn't invent cleaning. They invented the dignity of doing small things perfectly.
