@4thOfJuly365 The number of people that don't realize this was a force play and the catcher caught the ball before contact is sad. He's in the motion of throwing to first when he's hit in the lower back. Avoid contact is definitely a rule in youth sports through high school.

@Austen Not an engineer. 17+ years of professional experience with background in programming and statistics. Live in Austin. Decided to try this anyway. Not bad for just seeing where I stand without prep.

HOLY F: Workday just lost the argument that matters most. A federal judge said their AI hiring tools can be challenged for filtering out applicants over 40. “The algorithm did it” is NOT a defense. If this holds… every company using automated hiring just stepped into legal risk. You’re not crazy... if you’ve applied to 50, 100, 200 jobs and heard nothing… The system itself may be filtering you out. The decision means the plaintiffs may continue pursuing claims that Workday’s technology had a disparate impact on applicants age 40 and older. - SHRM Judge Lin dismissed some California claims and one disability claim, but gave plaintiffs until March 27 to revise and refile.

@RockChalkBlog bball season is long enough to schedule some decent non-conference games. Also, they nearly lost multiple times in the regular season to bad teams. It's not really much of an argument to me. They don't belong.

Miami is No. 93 on Kenpom - would be far and away the worst-ever at large. They have 0 Q1 wins. I get it. But when you go 31-0, beating literally everybody on your schedule, what else do you want them to do? Why even play the season if a literal perfect record isn't enough?

@bretstrelow Step through has and always will be legal. This is the same mechanics as a layup. Just because he stops and pivots doesn't make it a travel.

I don't care what the NBA allows, or how rules language gets interpreted ... Dribbling, picking up your dribble, using your right foot as your pivot foot, getting stuck and getting out of trouble only by lifting that foot to push off the other foot should not be allowed.

Nobody tells you how lonely building is. The pressure. The doubt. The nights you wonder if you’re crazy for trying. Startup life isn’t pretty. It’s grit. And in Web3, only the mentally strong last.

Matthew McConaughey is ahead of the curve on this. It is over for big budget productions and $20 million paydays for actors and actresses. They need to copyright and license their face and voice. There won’t be a need for an expensive set production.

I'm not up for tackling the security side yet having never done any of it before. I also like having oversight and interaction with Cursor as I code. It does a lot without me, but I'm in the loop and finding ways to increase its usefulness over time, like I just added my first skill to consistently use a docker container for a specific environment setup that gets used a lot in development.

I stopped using openclaw and closed my gateway a few days ago tbh and I will tell you why: claude max can literally do everything you need and more without the API token cost need it to write back to emails? Opus can just write a python script for you to run. Vibe code? doesn’t make sense to pay for the usage. openclaw wont be a thing in 6 months, trust me.

sonnet 4.6 just mass-produced 14 n8n workflows in one sitting. not templates. not drafts. not "here's a plan, go build it yourself." fully deployed, self-healing, production-ready workflows. here's how it works: 1. connect synta MCP to claude 2. describe what you want in plain english 3. go back and forth with sonnet until it's dialed 4. say "make this entire workflow for me" 5. it builds it directly in your n8n instance 6. it runs it 7. if something breaks — it reads the error, searches live n8n docs, patches it, and re-runs 8. you don't touch a thing that's not a demo. that's what i did yesterday for 6 hours straight. here's what i shipped: → pool company appointment recovery system (6 min) → insurance verification for a PT clinic (11 min) → AI-powered quote generator for a cleaning company (7 min) → tenant maintenance router for 312 units (9 min) → tax prep status auto-responder (8 min) → client onboarding sequence with doc collection (12 min) → invoice generator triggered by project completion (5 min) → lead scoring pipeline from facebook ads (8 min) → review request system post-service (4 min) → employee shift swap handler (6 min) → inventory reorder alerts with supplier email (7 min) → customer churn prediction + save sequence (14 min) → weekly KPI dashboard auto-email to owner (9 min) → waitlist management with auto-slot filling (4 min) 14 workflows. average build time: 7.8 minutes each. total time: under 2 hours of actual building. the other 4 hours were me finding new things to automate. every single one self-healed on first deploy. the gap between "i have an idea" and "it's running in production" is now measured in minutes. not days. not sprints. not SOWs. minutes. sonnet 4.6 + synta MCP is the most dangerous combo in automation right now. i put together a free PDF with: → 6 of the best prompts copy-paste ready → the discovery framework i use to close local businesses → pricing guide (what to charge per workflow type) → full synta MCP setup walkthrough comment "SYNTA" and i'll send it. or just go try it yourself: synta(.)io

@KristinRaworth It's the 3rd time in my 18 year career, but the longest and hardest environment. It's definitely common to have periods of depression because of it. I'm currently searching, but also working on a couple side projects to maybe never have to work for someone else again.

I don’t think folks understand the deep depression and loneliness that comes from being unemployed. I have been through a lot of tough shit but this is the most disheartening thing I’ve ever encountered. I feel like a loser. I feel like I have no value. I don’t feel like I matter.
