Edna Mmbali Ombakho came to the UK from Kenya to study and reach her goals, only to end up being found dead in a body of water. No wall-to-wall mainstream media coverage. No televised press conference. Just one local news report followed by silence. open.substack.com/pub/melissasig…

I am publicly asking Islington Council to delete this tweet. Your comms team got too excited and publicly dismissed, in its entirety, any eviction or disposal of belongings post-eviction. As of Friday 14 November 2025, the council opened a formal investigation into the alleged disposal and loss of property, including crucial ID and medication, following an eviction taking place. The council will also try to retrieve access to the body-worn video footage taken by the bailiffs, in order to see the belongings in the property at the time of eviction. If NO eviction had been carried out and NO belongings were disposed of, then why has a formal investigation been opened under the order of the council itself? Delete this tweet 👇🏽.
Islington Council@IslingtonBC

Our team work tirelessly to support homeless residents and would never simply evict a vulnerable person. We can’t share detail of individual cases, but we can confirm that no bailiff eviction happened and that we haven’t disposed of their belongings. 3/4

🚨 Islington Council sent bailiffs to evict a man with incurable cancer. He was turfed onto the streets with just the clothes on his back and his crutches. They then disposed of his belongings including medication. He told me he has to wash in McDonald’s toilets and sleep on night buses whilst having chemotherapy.

Four years 'work experience' @waitrose? Four?! It's an absolute disgrace. Exploitative. I won't beg you to employ him. This young man deserves better. I do, however, hope another employer sees his genuine potential as a valued employee.

I can’t even believe I am making this post🤦🏾‍♀️ But it’s imperative Mingle UK and their abysmal security are held accountable. On Sunday 13th July I was assaulted by a man at “Jam Fest”. There is an open case so I cannot detail the perpetrators as it stands. However I want to -

🚨 I spoke to kids from a primary school where 25% of them are homeless, I wanted you to hear directly from them. Education is the biggest opportunity for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to break free from poverty. The housing crisis and inaction from Government is denying more than 164,000 kids of this, and new data proves exactly that. Please share 🙏🏽
