@TakunHiwatari (1/2) I don't see people claiming PS will fail without physical games. The point is that removing consumer choice is a worse experience for people who prefer to own, lend, preserve, or resell their games. Success doesn't automatically mean every decision was the right one.

@Seramurai_ @OgaGaBooGa so that means the argument is more complicated than you present. A lot of indie games are digital-only because publishers don't produce physical editions. That doesn't mean players don't value physical ownership; it means the option often doesn't exist....thats the point.

@Seramurai_ Been thinking about it for years by buying physical whenever possible. Problem is consumers can't control corporate decisions or predict how quickly companies move away from physical media. You can prepare for a possibility but can't react to something before it actually happens

Can someone please tell me 1 time where Sony deleted a PAID digital game from gamers psn accounts. People keep talking about how COULD do this but I feel like theres zero precedent that they actually have done this. And the 1 time they did with concord, they refunded everyone 🤷🏾‍♂️

@DestinyFomo I don't even have a PS5 but PS4 is just as revelant to the whole topic since digital was a thing the entire time the console was out, odd limitation to include for your argument.

I still don't think I'm fully understanding the outrage at not having physical discs for games. Is it cool to have a physical copy? For sure, I still buy physical quite a bit. But is it necessary to enjoy a game? After so many years of gaming and then going back to specific games, a big part of the experience of the games I loved was who I was when I played them. What was going on around me at the time. Who I was playing them with. I don't need my original Halo: CE disc to taste the late night, Mt. Dew and pizza fueled LAN parties. I don't need my original Pokemon Yellow cart to remember being 10 years old and hiding under the blankets playing the game when I was supposed to be sleeping. I don't need a physical copy of Gauntlet Legends to remember the multiple all-nighters we pulled on that game. I don't need a disc copy of League of Legends to hang out with some of my best friends that I've met because of the game. It will always be incredible to be able to relive those memories by replaying a game, but maybe it should be more about the experience than buying something.

PS gamers: Disc or Digital, if you are mad at each other, that is misplaced anger. We need to be angry at Sony. Opinions can differ; just share them calmly. Ignore the rage bait from either side; let's get rid of the toxicity and hostility, and remember, we are all gamers.
