@HackDotSlash At that point, I'm not interested anymore. I'll go do literally any other hobby. Or if I really want to play video games, I'll support the indie devs that are still making physical. I don't need a corporation running my hobby.

@DevonDoesTech Cus one day you could look at GTA 7 and you gotta rent it on PSStore per night of use cus the fuck else you gonna do? Buy it in the store? Never underestimate their greed.

I still don't think I'm fully understanding the outrage at not having physical discs for games. Is it cool to have a physical copy? For sure, I still buy physical quite a bit. But is it necessary to enjoy a game? After so many years of gaming and then going back to specific games, a big part of the experience of the games I loved was who I was when I played them. What was going on around me at the time. Who I was playing them with. I don't need my original Halo: CE disc to taste the late night, Mt. Dew and pizza fueled LAN parties. I don't need my original Pokemon Yellow cart to remember being 10 years old and hiding under the blankets playing the game when I was supposed to be sleeping. I don't need a physical copy of Gauntlet Legends to remember the multiple all-nighters we pulled on that game. I don't need a disc copy of League of Legends to hang out with some of my best friends that I've met because of the game. It will always be incredible to be able to relive those memories by replaying a game, but maybe it should be more about the experience than buying something.

@Obsydianyte I can understand this. If a person is under the impression they are "buying" something, they should own it. I can get behind that. I think it's just that I look at gaming as more of an activity, more of an experience as a whole than as items I'm buying.

New camera placement on the desk thanks to my new @geekotogamers Helix Arm. So much better thanks to the fully customizable positioning. So nice.

@TheMatsuXL Honestly I think second hand selling/trading/sharing is, at least in my opinion, the strongest reason why consumers would want physical media specifically, but obviously the main reason corporations don't.

@DevonDoesTech The other part is if you die and let’s say your children wanted to play said game, they can access via physical media. Some licensing does not cover transfer upon death. So if you found grandpa’s old gameboy you can still play Tetris.

We just found a tiny little praying mantis on the ceiling in our basement. Successfully relocated outside where I think it'll be much happier.
