Let teachers teach. Allow local leaders to innovate. Cut the bureaucracy in DC. Return education to the states.

2013. Obama talks about how incredibly irresponsible it would be for Congress to shut down the government in order to blackmail a President into making concessions. Be sure to pass this along to Democrats.

@DustinCzarny ugh. That argument is exactly backwards. Large slave owning states could have overwhelmed smaller free states without the EC. Knock it off.

@CarlMasterpole They created this method to enshrine slavery. We got rid of slavery for a good reason. The founding fathers were not perfect. They wanted us to evolve as our democracy evolved. The time for the electoral college has come and gone.

@DustinCzarny I get it. But the Founding Fathers created this method of electing President's to that all of the states could have their voice's heard. I remember a time when Democrats valued things like that.

@DustinCzarny If we use 2016 as an example, the combined popular vote in 49 states said that Donald Trump should be President by over 1M votes. So did the EC. But CA said it should be Hillary. The EC is the only way for all of the states to have a voice in the process.

@CarlMasterpole That margin could also come from a variety of other states. Until recently the ec actually aligned with the popular vote because there were more swing states and the winner take all method aligned. It doesn't anymore and it is poisoning our politics

@DustinCzarny Clinton won the nat popular vote by about 3 million votes. She won CA by over 4 million. Trump won FL by 100,000. It is 100% objectively true that 1 or 2 blue states will decide all nat elections without the EC. It literally exists to prevent that from happening.

@CarlMasterpole That is objectively not true. Elections would be decided by the population in all states. Red states like TX and FL have equal size to ca and ny. The country is basically evenly split. Populations in urban and rural parts will cancel each other out. Majority rules.

@DustinCzarny JFK's position on abortion, taxes, the economy, communism and the 2nd amendment would send todays democrats into the streets. "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country" would be a 'dog whistle to bigots' on MSNBC today.

@DustinCzarny Maybe democrats in NY shouldn't have sued to force them off the ballot here and likely in other states?

"I think, telling people where you live is actually kind of a low threshold where to cross. It's an easy question to answer for most people and I think that's something that Mr. Kennedy should have taken into account before he filed his paperwork," loom.ly/NN0gTy4

@CarlMasterpole One is physical damage one is actual violence to the person which is a extremely more deliberate Act also the the January 6th person was trying to disrupt our democracy which affects hundreds of millions of people so you're right things are a little off you should have got more

@DustinCzarny Harris can't win if she loses PA. The fact that she didn't pick a Gov with a 60%+ approval rating there is unbelievable. The memes of Minn burning will write themselves

Instant reaction. Harris choosing Walz is a unity pick that will look to boost base voters & go for a knockout win rather than a surgical electoral college victory. Walz can be a great attack dog while doing it w/ charm & Midwestern roots. It plays well in all 7 swing states.
